Glitter Inlay Flowers

June 16, 2014

Hello my crafty friends, it’s Raquel here today. I admit it, I love glitter! If you love glitter too, then you’re going to want to try this glitter inlay flower card. What’s great about this technique is that your card isn’t bulky and will mail for one stamp. Let me show you how I made it.

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Cut pink card stock at 5.5 x 8.5, score at 4.25 for a standard A2 card base. Cut (2) pieces of black card stock at 4 x 5.25. Cut (2) pieces of white card stock at 3.75 x 5. The second black and white card stock are optional, I used them on the inside of the card.

2. Adhere one set of white card stock to black card stock and adhere to the inside of card.

3. Lay desired flower dies from Flower Set 1 onto the 2nd piece of white card stock cut in step 1. Run the card stock through your die cutting machine and repeat once more until you have three flower cuts in your card stock. Adhere this piece to the 2nd piece of black card stock cut in step 1, making sure not to get glue in the flower cut outs. Then adhere to card base. I used one of the white flowers on the inside of my card or you can save them for another project.

4. Adhere Double Sided Adhesive to white card stock that is large enough to die cut 4 flowers and 4 centers.

5. Remove the large area of the release sheet from each flower and cover with desired color of Silk Microfine Glitter, shake off excess and polish with your finger. Now remove the inner petals and cover this area with a different color of Silk Microfine Glitter, shake off excess and polish with your finger. Repeat this process until all flowers and centers are covered with glitter.

6. Adhere the glittered flowers back into their respective shapes, making sure to line up the petals so they are laid back into the card. Layer a smaller flower on top of the larger flower and adhere the flower centers as shown in card.

7. Place Blue/Gold Glitter Border lines and Best Wishes Peel-Off on card as shown.

8. For the inside, place Blue/Gold Glitter Border lines on bottom of card. Adhere white flower to bottom right corner. Adhere glittered center to the middle of the flower.
