Elizabeth Craft Designs July Designer Challenge – Stand Up Helpers

July 31, 2014

Hello everyone,

Today is Challenge day! Every month we challenge our talented Design Team to create a project for a specific theme or using a specific ECD product. Some designers create more than one. This month we asked our designers to create a card using a Stand Up Helper die.
This could be a Stand Up Helpe word die or one of the Stand Up Helpers shaped motifs from Stand Up Helpers Sets 1 and 2.

Let’s see what our Design Team created!

The first project is from Raquel Mason who used the oak leaf Stand Up Helper from Stand Up Helpers Set 2. She used the Thinking of You Stand Up Helper die to cut the words for the bottom of the card. And she chose a beautiful oak leaf peel-off in gold. Love the way she captured autumn splendor!

Candy Spiegel used the Happy Birthday Stand Up Helper to create this masculine card.
She also used a Peel-Off Sticker and Silk Microfine Glitter to decorate it. Beautiful colors and coloring! Make sure to visit Candy’s blog for more ideas.

Jackie Smith knows how to combine beautiful papers. The first card she created is a Christmas card using the Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper, the Five Part Pine and the Gifts Peel-Off. The two Silk Microfine Glitter colors she used for the pine tree look stunning. For the second card Jackie used the oak leaf Stand Up Helper, a Pumpkin Peel-Off and more Silk Microfine Glitter.

Love the way Frances Byrne used the Holiday House and Outdoor Edges by Karen Burniston for her card. It’s a great combination and using the row of trees in the background is such a clever idea. The colors are perfect. Frances used two Stand Up Helpers – the tree from Stand Up Helpers Set 2 and the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper adhered as a flat element at the bottom.

Rita Edwards created this stunning fireplace Stand Up Helper card. She used the circle Stand Up Helper from Set 2 and the new Stockings and Holly Border dies. Rita also used the Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper and some red Glitter Dot Peel-Offs to decorate the card and the Holly Borders.

Karen Aicken created a different style Stand Up Helper card using the flower Stand Up Helper included in Set 2. The Snowman die was used to decorate the card. Isn’t he cute?! If you would like to know how to create this card yourself, make sure to visit Karen’s blog.

Mary Prasad made this clean and simple Stand Up Helper card using the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper. She also used the Five Part Pine and Holly Flourish to decorate the card. It is a very beautiful and elegant card. You can find more creations on Mary’s blog.

What a stunning card by Kelly Booth! Love the white and silver theme. Kelly used the Congratulations Stand Up Helper and the Clock from the Clock and Gears die set by Karen Burniston. You can fine more beautiful projects on Kelly’s blog.

Debra Hensley made this super cute card using the Thinking of You Stand Up Helper die. She also used the umbrella and rain boots from the Rainy Day die set. They both are the perfect match with the stamped bunny. Visit Debra’s blog for more info.

Helen Cryer used the Holiday House to decorate her Best Wishes Stand Up Helper card.
She cut a second Best Wishes in pink and adhered this over the Best Wishes cut into the light color card base to match the Agatha Edges at the bottom front. (Agatha Edges by Karen Burniston). Love the pastel colors.

The new word Stand Up Helpers can be used on flat cards to create a nice border. Here are some samples where the word Stand Up Helpers are used on flat cards.

Candy Spiegel made this beautiful card using the Best Wishes Stand Up Helper and the new Wheelbarrow die. To create the flowers Candy used Bunch of Flowers.

Love the colors on the next card made by Frances Byrne. Frances created a unique diagonal border using the Happy Birthday Stand Up Helper. She also used the new Crystal Flowers dies plus the Flourish with Flowers from our previous release.

Another clean and simple card by Mary Prasad using the Thinking of You Stand Up Helper. Love the layout of the card. Mary used Karen Burniston’s Agatha Edges at the bottom.

The next card is from Debra Hensley and it is so cute! Love the Congratulations Stand Up Helper used as a border – it looks really nice with the rest of the card. Debra also used the new Rubber Ducky.

I love the colors and the beautiful background on Kelly Booth Thinking of You Stand Up Helper card. It also features the new Wheelbarrow, filled with flowers and leaves made with dies already in the Elizabeth Craft Designs collection.

Kelly Booth send me this picture yesterday and I love it! Love the colors and the beautiful background. Kelly used the Thinking of You Stand Up Helper and the new Wheelbarrow.

Karen Aicken used the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper and the new Stockings die. I really like the embossed background and the Marry Christmas as a border. For more info, visit Karen’s blog.

Kelly Booth also used the Stockings die for her card and created a beautiful embossed background. The Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper was used to create the words.

Here is another card by Karen Aicken using the same dies as the Christmas card we showed earlier. Love the paper she chose. A quick and easy card to make but so elegant.

Rita Edwards created two cards. For the first card she used the Season’s Greetings Stand Up Helper, Ornament Set 3 and Holly Flourish dies. The Glitter Dot Peel-Off accents look beautiful. For the second card she used the Merry Christmas Stand Up Helper, the Stockings and Snowflakes dies. More info on Rita’s blog.

We hope you enjoyed all of the projects our talented team made for the Stand Up Helpers Challenge!

The next Elizabeth Craft Designs challenge is on August 31 and the next Karen Burniston Design Team Challenge is on August 20.

Beautiful collection of cards that certainly inspire one! I loved the way the new stand up expressions were used. Not only as standups, but for wording on cards also. I seem to have a one track mind as I do not think I would have thought of that. Thanks so much for all these neat ideas.
