Judi Kauffman’s getting a head start on the holidays. Her Season’s Greetings Tag combines Elizabeth Craft Designs’ Tags & More 1 – Lace, an oval from Karen Burniston’s Accordion Oval Card, the ECD Sprig die, and some altered Shimmer Sheetz scraps. And, of course, her beloved Glitter Dots Peel-offs! This tag would look great on a card front, a package, hanging from a garland or on the tree.

10-21-A

I had some leftover adhesive-backed alcohol ink-altered Shimmer Sheetz from the tags I made for the October 18 blog post and those scraps led me straight to this Tags & More project. (You know how it goes – one thing leads to another…)

CUT PIECES:

Red cardstock – Using the basic tag shape and the decorative overlay from Tags & More 1 – Lace die cut a 3.25” x 6” tag. (Save the flourishes and dots for another project.) Die cut a 3.5” oval (die from Accordion Oval Card).

Holiday-theme paper – Cut a 2.75” x 4” rectangle.

Green cardstock – Die cut a Sprig.

Adhesive-backed alcohol ink-altered Shimmer Sheetz – Using dies from the same Tags & More set die cut two scalloped corners and two reinforcements. One of the reinforcements goes on the front of the tag; one is used on the back as a nice finishing touch.

IMPORTANT TIP: Be sure to back the Shimmer Sheetz with Elizabeth Craft Designs’ NEW Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet. The release sheet is very thin and this is what makes it so easy to cut adhesive-backed Shimmer Sheetz shapes. And don’t forget that you will need a metal adaptor plate when die cutting Shimmer Sheetz, with or without adhesive on the back.

ASSEMBLE TAG:

Refer to the photos. Layer and adhere the pieces. Trim the sprig as shown so it fits the curve of the oval. Add 3/8” ribbon to finished tag.

Berries and accents at upper left and lower right corner are Glitter Dots in Red/Gold.
Position the Season’s Greetings Large peel-off in Gold on two lines at an angle.

10-21-C[1]OPTIONS:

Substitute a Merry Christmas peel-off; use peel-offs in Silver or Black instead of Gold.
Hand letter the greeting.
Die cut the greeting from Velvet Adhesive Sheet if you prefer less sparkle.
Die cut four decorative corners instead of just two.
Use Glitter Dots at all corners instead of just two.
For other holidays and occasions switch the color combination and the sentiment and use a Berry Branch instead of the Sprig to totally transform the tag!

The close up shots are wonderful!

Thank you, Candy. It’s always quite a challenge to capture the sparkle of Shimmer Sheetz. The close-ups showing the brighter corner and reinforcement are the most accurate – Anything that is gold metallic, like the Metallic Mixatives (Tim Holtz/Ranger) that I used, can turn olive green or even looks kind of black in a photo if the light isn’t hitting it just right! I have a very basic no-frills digital camera so I point and shoot and cross my fingers.

Looks like Joset got the other two photos into the right spots later in the day. Thank you for the kind words about the project. I know what you mean about long wish lists, Candy.

Candy Spiegel, it’s not just your computer, I’m only seeing one photo also. Although that tag is beautiful and these dies are on my neverending wish list that has become an entity of it’s own. It just keeps growing faster than I can buy things off of it!!!

So pretty! It’s probably my computer, but I am only seeing one of the photos …

Beautiful tag, what a great idea to use the oval cutout in the center.

This is so pretty! Very festive! Love the shimmer sheetz corners! TFS!

Shimmer Sheetz corners and reinforcements for the hole at the top give such a nice sturdy finish. Glad you like that look. I hope you give it a try.
