Welcome to our March Designers’ Challenge. This month’s theme is Flower Power. With the start of spring, we thought the theme would be just perfect. Flowers make us all happy and there are so many varieties and such a wide array of beautiful colors. We hope these eight projects will make you happy, too, and inspire you to create some flowers at your craft table. Don’t forget to check out our Flower Power PRIZE GIVEAWAY! (Details are at the end of this blog post.)
Raquel Mason created a flower Stand Up Helper card using one of the Stand Up Helper dies from Stand Up Helpers Set 1. She decorated the card using the Daisy, the Small Butterfly and the Ladybug. For the tag she used the basic tag shape die from Tags & More 7 – Vine. Love this cute card by Raquel. Visit her blog HERE for more info and instructions.
Another stunning project to decorate your home! Angela Beavers created a beautiful wall hanger using Tags & More 8 – Lattice, Victorian Flower Set 1, Hardware 1 Hinges, and Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s stamp called “Let us be grateful.” The tiny flowers are from the Garden Notes – Hydrangea; they give the tag even more detail. Love how the different dies are used. Find instructions on Angela’s blog HERE.
You might have already seen our next project, Judi Kauffman’s No-Sew Flower Power Wristlet. It was posted on Saturday, March 28 on our blog. We just love the bit, bold Shimmer Sheetz flowers. It is a fun and easy project and requires only a very few ingredients. To see what these ingredients are, visit Judi’s blog post for instructions and supply list HERE.
Candy Spiegel created this bright colorful Get Well Soon card using the solid Victorian Flowers from Victorian Flower Set 1, Victorian Flower Overlay Set 2 and Bunch of Flowers Set 1. She created stencils using the solid dies for the dark pink flowers in the background. For the light pink flowers she used Shimmer Sheetz and Velvet Adhesive Sheets. See more HERE.
Last projects for today’s challenge is this beautiful Stand Up Helper card created by Els van de Burgt featuring the Crystal Flower dies, the Hardware 1 – Hinges and the Stand Up Helper 3 – Hinges. She used a fun technique with scraps from a Glitter Peel-off sheet and Silk Microfine Glitter to create the flowers. For instructions, visit our blog post from yesterday HERE.

these projects are beautiful
I admire all your creations and love making flower cards myself.
How can I choose a favourite flower?
My Mom’s favourite was the herald of spring – the daffodil; the scent from the daphne is gloriously heady; the hellebore is delightful, but hangs her head; the camellia is perfection, but has no scent; the hydrangea is beautifully and blowsy. All in all I think, even though it has no scent, it must be the enormous deepest darkest blue trumpet on the diminutive and delicate alpine gentian.
Happy Days
Lesley
