For the Love of Circles

February 25, 2016

Hello everyone, Sanna here again with my next card project. This time I would like to share a set of two cards created using the Stitched and Fitted Circles dies. I love using basic forms in various ways since they are so very versatile and never go out of fashion! Above and below are the two cards I created.

Sanna LIppert

Lets start with the first card:

Sanna Lippert

1: Cut a piece of Soft Finish Cardstock to 5.25 x 4.0 inches and place 5 circle dies over the paper to die cut all 5.  Remove the circles and set then aside for the second card.

2: Take a second piece of Soft Finish Cardstock in the same size and add purple, blue and red spray ink onto it. Let dry.

Sanna Lippert3: Adhere the die cut “negative piece” over the misted one and ink the edges of the card base with light blue Distress Ink. The card base should be slightly bigger than the die cut piece, so that the inked edges show and create a nice contrast to the white top piece.

Sanna Lippert4: Take the Seeds of Thought Red Rubber Stamp – Take Time and stamp the sentiment inside three of the misted circles. Stamp only a part of the sentence per circle. This way the reader’s eye will wander from one circle to another.

Sanna LIppert5: Add some random black ink splatters here and there for additional interest. Allow to dry, then ink the edges of the piece with black Distress Ink for more interest. Glue onto card base.

Sanna Lippert6: For the second card use the die cut circle pieces set aside earlier, plus  a 4.5 x 4.5 inch piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, and greenish blue cardstock side-fold card base.

Sanna Lippert7: Use the same spray inks that were used on the first card to color the circles. Ink the edges with black Distress Ink for more depth.

Sanna Lippert8: Adhere the White Soft Finish Cardstock piece onto the card base, then adhere the circles in a group. Add faux stitching around the circles with a black pen.

9: Use the same Take Time rubber stamp to stamp a sentiment next to the circles. Add some black ink splatters for additional interest and let dry. Here are close-up photos of the finished cards.

yThese cards are very easy to create. Through the bold colors used the circle images really stand out. I hope you enjoy this simple and easy to do idea. Get those circle dies out and play!

Have fun!
