Pop it Ups Wednesday with Sandy – Caught A Bug!

March 16, 2016

Hi everyone, it’s Sandy Diller here today to share a fun Pop it Ups card I made for my hubby.  Poor guy has the flu.

Directions for this card are given as it appears.  It is an A2 card (4.25″ X 5.5″)

Using Die #909  Hoppy the Frog:

  • 1 green Hoppy the Frog body
  • 1 black shadow layer
  • 1 set of eyes, white – using ECD double sided adhesive on the back
  • 3 green lily pads and 3 pink lily pads
  • 4 black bugs

Using Die #949  Props 2:

  1. 1 pink noise maker

Using ECD Soft Finish Cardstock  PSF 131 – Soft Sky

  • 1 – 4.25″ X 11″ panel  scored at center
  • 1 – 4.5″ X  2.5″ panel, rounded at top edge (see photo below) for pond

Die #790 Get Well Soon – 1 blue Get Well Soon

  • 1 – 1.5″ X 3.5″ panel for inside, not shown

Using Die #781  All Seasons Tree

  • Stamp or computer generate the phrase “Caught a bug!” and cut using clouds

Using ECD Soft Finish Cardstock PSF138  Olive Twist

  • 1 – 4″ X 11″ panel, scored at center

Die #914  Outdoor Edges – 1 strip of grass

Die #114 Fitted Ovals – 1 green lily pad

Using coordinating paper cut  1 –  2″ X 2″ square for tissue box creased at center

Card Front –

Fold card base with color to the inside – working with white front panel.

Add grass strip to rounded blue edge of pond.

Attach to cloud panel and add to card front.

Cut leaves away from pink lily pads and add on top of the green lily pads.  Cut bump from noise maker.

Assemble Hoppy the Frog and add noise maker as his tongue.  If you are not sure how to assemble Hoppy, Karen Burniston has a fantastic how-to video you can watch.

An Action Wobble was used on this card (behind Hoppy) but it is completely optional.

Add large green lily pad to pond and place Hoppy on lily pad.

Arrange lily pads and bugs; add clouds using pop dots.

Card interior –

Fold green panel with color to the inside, using Die #782, Agatha Edges, trim top and bottom of panel.

Open green panel,  using Die #778 Lots of Pops –  cut in center lining die up the center with the crease.

Cut a hole in center of tissue box for a small piece of tissue.  Die #1109 Oval Pull Card was used here.

Add Green panel to card base lining up center cease.

Popping out only the center section of the Lots of Pops, add square piece to form tissue box.

Add “Get Well Soon” to top section.  Add greeting panels and bug to lower section.   Insert small piece of tissue through hole.
