Hi everyone,
It’s Frances Byrne here with my Pop it Ups Wednesday tutorial for April. This time round I have created a card that can be used for birthdays or any other celebration using the Cake Pop Up Card die set.
- Place the main Cake Pop Up die so that the alignment nubs of the die are directly on the fold, secure with removable tape, and run through a die cutting machine.
2. Cut a 3 inch x 5 inch piece of Dark Fuschia Soft Finish Cardstock and cover the back with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Die cut the cake and snip at all the connection points to isolate just the cake are from the Dark Fuschia cardstock.
- Refer to Karen Burniston’s YouTube Video which shows how to work the folds to create the pop-up cake on both the pop up and Dark Fuschia piece. You can find the video here
- Remove the protective backing from the Dark Fuschia cake and adhere it over the cake on the designer paper cake to change the color.
- Die cut the cake stand from a piece of Lavender Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape adhered to the back.
- Die cut the large and small rectangles using coordinating designer paper.
- Die cut the icing strips (not include in photo above), from White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front of the card. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Polish glitter with fingers.
- Die cut the candles using Whisper Blue Soft Finish Cardstock.
- Die cut the flames rom White Soft Finish Cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the front of the card. Remove the protective backing from the adhesive and cover the adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Polish glitter with fingers. Color flames using yellow markers. Adhere flame to flame on the Whisper Blue flames.
- Decorate the cake referring to the photo above for placement.
- Attach the pop up card inside the Dark Fuschia card adhering one side at a time, avoiding placing adhesive near the pop-up areas.
- Emboss the larger panel using the Lots of Dots Embossing Folder.
- Attach the panel to the lower panel of the pop up card.
- Trim off any overhang from the sides of the card.
- Use one of the borders from the Jewels 1 die set and run through die cutting machine. Attach border to top portion of pop up card.
- Place Pink/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to each of the circle areas of the die cut.
- Stamp the sentiment “Enjoy your day” to the circle using black ink. Color using copic markers.
- Attach sentiment circle just above the circle inset on the lower panel of pop up card.
- Cut a 4.75 inch x 5.75 inch piece of designer paper. Position the circle edge die from the Pull Card Edges die set, so that the circle portion of the die is approximately 1/2 inch up from the bottom edge.
- Run through die cutting machine and attach to card as per photo above.
- Use one of the borders from the Jewels 1 die set and run through die cutting machine. Attach border to top portion of pop up card.
- Place Pink/Silver Glitter Dot Peel Off Stickers to each of the circle areas of the die cut.
