Hello!!  I’ts Wanda here today.  Have you had a chance to check out the new Spring Release?  If you missed the blog post regarding the new dies you can find it HERE.  My card uses the Winter die from the new A Way With Words 4 Seasons set.  I’m quite glad that it is not winter outside!!!  But I did have fun making a card using the die.

1 – Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock 4 1/4″ x 6 1/2″.  Color paper with Distress Inks using the Wrinkle Free Distress technique: Rub ink pads on craft sheet, spray with water, dip paper into color, lift; dry; repeat until you like the paper.

2 – Cut one end of paper with Tags & More 9 edge and then the snowflake overlay.  Distress edges of paper.

3 – Cut an oval from paper with a Stitched Ovals die.  Emboss oval with Snowflakes Embossing Folder.  Ink  raised areas (snowflakes) and edge with Shaded Lilac.

4 – Cut another piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock a little smaller than main panel and cut end with Tags & More 9 edge.  Place a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive about 2″ wide across die cut end and trim to follow edge.  Remove liner and cover adhesive with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.  Adhere main panel to glittered panel allowing the glitter to shine through the openings in the overlay.

5 – Use Foam Mounting Tape to attach oval directly over where it was cut out.

6 – Create a top-fold card base (folded size: 4 5/8″ x 6 3/4″). Attach panel to card.

7 – Cut the word Winter twice, once from White Soft Finish Cardstock and from Turquoise Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz.  Glue pieces together, offsetting the words.  Glue to oval as shown. Reminder: You MUST use a metal adaptor plate for die cutting Shimmer Sheetz (or the Precision Base Plate with the Big Shot machine from Sizzix). Watch Els van de Burgt’s YouTube tutorial if you have not previously die cut Shimmer Sheetz. Option – Back the cardstock and Shimmer Sheetz with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape prior to die cutting instead of using glue to attach the words to the card front.

8 – Cut large Snowflake from White Soft Finish Cardstock, ink with Shaded Lilac and Salty Ocean, add Glitter Dot Peel-offs to the arms of the snowflake, as shown. Glue snowflake to card.  Add a Glitter Dot Peel-off to the flourish at the end of the word Winter.

Thanks for following along!!!  I hope you’ve enjoyed today’s card and that you find time to get inky this weekend!!!!

~Wanda
