Maritime ATC cards

June 23, 2016

Hi there! Sanna here today, sharing a set of maritime ATC cards.Sanna Lippert

I love summer, sand and sea and therefore chose to create ATC cards around this theme. The new Joset Designs dies are just perfect for creating such artist trading cards!! Here are the steps on how to create these ATC cards:Sanna Lippert

Step 1: Cut a piece of the Through the Lens – Wood patterned paper into a size of 64mm x 89 mm (or 2 1/2 by 3 1/2 inch).Sanna Lippert

Step 2: Apply golden texture paste onto the piece of paper through a stencil with a palette knife. Let air dry.Sanna Lippert

Step 3: Take the “wave” die from the Boat die set and die cut a piece of Mustard Soft Finish Cardstock to create a wavy border. Adhere the border the left side of the ATC.Sanna Lippert

Step 4: Apply some black ink splatters onto the background. Let air dry. Attach a piece of twine with a stapler onto the background, on top of the Mustard cardstock piece.Sanna Lippert

Step 5: Adhere another piece of Through the Lens – Wood patterned paper onto a sheet of Clear Double Sided Adhesive and use the boat´s wheel die from the Boat die set to cut 3 pieces from the paper. Adhere next to the Mustard cardstock piece.Sanna Lippert

Step 6: Use an old typewrite to write a sentiment for the ATC card, outline the words with a black pen.

Add a wavy border and a piece of twine, like on the previous ATC card. Ink the edges with Distress Ink Vintage photo. Die cut some more boat´s wheel pieces, this time from the Mustard toned cardstock. Attach those onto the open spaces (include the whole piece, do not remove any parts). Apply Glossy Accents to mimic the boat´s wheel shape. Let air dry properly.

Step 8: Again add a typewrite sentiment and outline the words with a black pen. For additional interest, adhere small wood veneer pieces on top.

Take a piece of Brick Red Soft Finish Cardstock and attach a piece of Clear Double Sided Adhesive on the back. Use the Seaweed die cut die to cut a piece of coral. Adhere onto the background. Don´t throw the negative piece away, we will use it later. I love using both the positive and negative parts!

Step 11: Adhere the Seahorse next to the coral piece. Apply some glitter glue here and there on the Seahorse piece for a fun detail.  Sanna Lippert

Step 12: Draw circles with a white pen onto the background to add movement and interest.  Sanna Lippert

Step 13: Add a typewriter sentiment, outline with a black pen and add doodling around the edges.

Step 14: For the last ATC, again cut a piece of Through the Lens – Wood pattered paper into a ATC size, then cut a piece of Teal Soft Finish Cardstock in size of 4,5cm x 5,7 cm and adhere the negative coral piece on top of the teal one.  Sanna Lippert

Step 15: Attach light blue, small eyelets onto each corner of the Brick Red cardstock piece.  Sanna Lippert Sanna Lippert

Step 16: Draw white circles onto the background, then adhere the Brick Red cardstock piece into the middle. Next adhere a typewriter sentiment, outlined with a black pen, on top. Add glitter glue details here and there onto the blue coral piece. Finally add outlining with a black and white pen and some wood veneer piece for additional detail. This is what the finished pieces look like:

The cards are great, especially the one with the seaweed. I really like using the positive and the negative pieces. I also thought using the white pen to draw circles gave the card so much interest. Thanks so much for sharing your artistry.
