Soft Finish Cardstock

Jasmine Gift Card Holder

July 18, 2016

Hi everyone. Annette Green here today from the Susan’s Garden Club Team with a sweet little gift card holder adorned with flowers made using Susan’s beautiful Jasmine Garden Notes die set. Sometimes gift cards seem a little impersonal, so placing them inside a decorative handmade envelope gives it that extra special personal touch. Let me share how easy the jasmine flowers are to make as I show the steps to making your own gift card holder.

1. Start with an envelope to hold your gift card. I created this coin envelope with pattern paper and a few folds.

2. Punch two circles from Pink Peach Soft Finish Cardstock using a 5/8″ punch. Adhere to envelope with foam tape, add an adhesive pearl to each, and connect with ivory waxed twine to secure.

3. Die cut the jasmine flower and the stamen five times from White Soft Finish Cardstock.

4. Die cut several leaves from True Green Soft Finish Cardstock.

5. Lay the leaves face down on the Leaf Pad and use the Leaf Tool to create a vein down the center of each.

6. Fold the leaf away from you along the scored line and rub light green PanPastel along the ridge.

8. Grasp the base of the leaf with Reverse Tweezers, as shown, then pinch the leaf around the tweezers toward you with your fingers to shape. If desired, use the Reverse Tweezers to also gently curl the outer edges of each leaf.

9. Continue the process with all your leaf pieces and finish by making a score line down the center of the stems.

10. Add embellishments to your envelope as desired, then adhere stems with leaves, trimming as needed. Save some of the leaves to use later for filler.

11. Rub a light amount of the light green PanPastel onto the centers of each jasmine flower as well as the base of each stamen.

12. Lay the flower face down onto the Mini Molding Pad and use the Medium Ball Stylus to swirl and cup the petals until they curve upward, as shown.

13. Flip the flower face up on the Mini Molding Pad and press down firmly on the center with the Medium Ball Stylus.

15. Color the tips with a marker on both sides of the stamen pieces as shown.

16. Grasp the extending tab of the stamen piece with the Reverse Tweezers, apply a line of glue along the base and begin rolling.

17. After rolling to the end, hold for a few seconds then gently remove the tweezers before the glue dries. Set aside and continue with all the stamen pieces.

Insert a gift card into your pretty envelope and you’re done. Some may see the envelope as an even nicer gift than the actual gift card!
