Pop It Up’s Wednesday with Kelly and a Simple Set of Note Cards!

I often find myself needing thank you cards and know they make a perfect little gift or pick me up to give to friends. My card set today is a very simple one done with just a few dies and one of my favorite layering stencils by Karen Burniston.

1. You will need 6 pieces of Buttercream Soft Finish Cardstock 8.5″ by 5.5″ scored and folded in half at 4.25″.

2. Die cut 6 Stitched Rectangles (3″ by 4.25″) from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die Cut 6 Dotted Scallop Rectangles (4.5″ by 3.25″) from black cardstock.

3. Using the Stage it Stencil – Blossom Layering and your six Stitched Rectangles in White SFC, place the flower part of the stencil over each rectangle, tape with removable tape and ink with blue ink.

4. Remove the tape and wipe stencil with a baby wipe, move the stencil up over each white rectangle, lining up the flower centers, lightly tape and ink with a yellow ink.

5. Take a small piece of the black cardstock (large enough for six thank you die cuts) and place Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back. Run through the die cutting machine six times. Peel up the Thank You from the backing, center on the rectangle, pushing the center of the word down and then curving the ends down a little as you place them onto the blossom pattern to create the curve.

6. Using ECD Clear Double Sided adhesive Tape on the backs of the rectangles, place each one onto a black dotted scallop rectangle.

7. Place ECD Transparent Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the backs of each of these and center onto your cards.

8. Last, since I am giving these to a friend as a gift I wanted to dress them up a bit. It is so easy to stencil onto a piece of ribbon and I love that it matches the cards. Place your ribbon down, place the stencil on top aligning a row of blossoms onto the ribbon. tape above and below the ribbon making a channel. Lightly lay a piece of tape over the end so while you’re inking it does not slide.

9. Ink the exposed areas, then remove the tape just from the edge and slide more through the channel and repeat until all your ribbon has the blossom pattern. Remove the tape and wipe your stencil with a baby wipe. The dots are done the same way but can be a little tricky as to how you slid the ribbon so I just slid my ribbon, inked a few dots, and repeated that way until I had a blossom pattern on my ribbon that matched the Thank You cards 🙂
