Hello everyone, Sanna here again today. How many Christmas/Seasonal cards do you send every year? I need quite a big pile for friends and family each year and it has become a tradition to make sure they are all handmade and every single one is different. Quite a challenge, right? Here is a start – a set of four; now I only need 40-something more!
1. For the first card take a piece of Misty Mauve Soft Finish Cardstock and cut it into a size of 14,5 x 10 cm. Then take the A Way With Words – Noel die and cut 3 pieces out of the Misty Mauve cardstock. Try to align the words in one line symmetrically underneath each other. Next take a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock and attach a piece of old book paper onto it using Clear Double Sided Adhesive. Then again cut 3 A Way With Words – Noel die cut pieces from that paper. Now adhere the Misty Mauve cardstock onto a white card base. Then adhere the old book paper Noel die cuts into the middle and use tweezers to adhere and fill in the open spaces with the leftover pieces of the Misty Mauve cardstock. This is a little time consuming, but worth the effort. Finally apply white ink splatters onto the surface. Let dry properly and then attach a matching ribbon.
2. For the second card take another piece of old book paper and tone it light blue with blue spray ink. Let dry. Then take Rosebud and White Soft Finish Cardstock and the Winter Mittens die set and cut the ribbon and the solid mitten pieces with the Rosebud tone and the upper pieces from the White Soft Finish Cardstock. Adhere onto each other either using Clear Double Sided Adhesive before die cutting or using a good paper glue afterward. Decorate the mittens with glitter glue and adhere them onto their places. Finally take a sentiment from the Winter Sentiments die set and stamp it onto a piece of white cardstock. Ink the banner with pink Distress Ink and attach to the card with a stapler. The second card is finished.
3. For the third card take a piece of white cardstock and cut it into a size of 14 x 10 cm. Color it light blue with a spray ink and let dry. Take the Through the Lens – Wood paper pack and die cut the Sled from the wood pattern sheet, making sure that the grain in the wood runs lengthwise when cutting the sled. Take a piece of old book paper for die cutting the poinsettias and the leaves. Stamp a sentiment with Winter Sentiments clear stamp set onto a piece of old book paper with black stamp ink and fussy cut along the edges. Attach a piece of hemp cord onto the sled and ink the poinsettia and the leaves with red and green Distress Ink. Adhere the blue background paper onto a white card base, then adhere the sled and the flowers on their places. Decorate with gems, adhere the sentiment on its place and outline the card with a black pen.
4. For the fourth card again cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock into a size of 14 x 10 cm. Place it inside the Flower Mosaic embossing folder and run it thru your die cutting machine. Next take the smallest Entwined Circle die and cut a piece of green felt with it. After that stamp a Winter Sentiment onto white cardstock and color the background with light green Distress Ink. Fussy cut along the lines. Next all you need to do is to adhere all the pieces onto their places and decorate with a felt bow and some cork stars.
You can, of course, create sets of each card while you are at it. That way you will be done with your Christmas card creating in no time. I will need to come up with more cards, so I bet you will be seeing a few more popping up here at the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog!
Happy creating,
Sanna
