Lace Box with Cards

January 20, 2017

Hello friends,

A warm welcome to the ECD blog. I am Anita here with my first post and before I begin, I would love to thank Elizabeth Craft Designs for including me in the team. It’s just been a few days and I am already loving it around here.

The new year has brought in many new and amazing dies and stamps and you will surely love them. I especially like the Valentine’s Day collection. It has all the beautiful designs to pep up your projects for the season of love.

Today, I am showing you my most favourite Lace Pocket die.  I have used this to create a Notecard Box that will hold cards and I loved the idea of creating a lacy box to give it a very feminine look. I have made it in purse style.

Do have a look at my creation, followed by more pictures to show how I made it.

A step by step tutorial to make this project –

Using The Lace Pocket die, cut two pieces from Purple Soft Finish Cardstock.

Apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the inside of the folds on one die cut.

Join the two die cuts together to form an envelope box.

To make the cards, cut four 8.5 x 11 sheets of White Soft Finish Cardstock in half to create eight cards. Score at 4.25 inches and fold. Finished cards – 4.25 x 5.5.. Add a strip of purple card stock to each card. Cover both sides of strips of pink cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape and centre the pink strip on top of the purple one.

Remove the release sheet from the front of the pink strip and apply Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess and return it to the jar; polish glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Cover the front of a piece of pink cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet and die cut with Lace Heart die. Remove the release sheet and cover with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, brush off excess and return it to the jar; polish glitter with a fingertip. Add heart to the front of the box.

Make a lush rose with several leaves using Susan’s Garden Rose die#3. Apply some wet, clear-drying glue to the edges of some of the petals and add sparkle with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Set aside to dry.

Decorate the cards as shown, using die cut hearts and a stamped sentiment, or as you prefer..

Add a die cut Stitched Heart stamped with ‘thinking of you’ to the front of the box, along with the rose and leaves. Attach a purple cardstock handle using brads to secure it to the sides of the box.
