Happy Birthday Floating Window Card

Hi Everyone,

It’s Tina here today for the Coloring Design Team. Today I am going to show you how to make a Floating Window Card and enjoy the benefits of having dies to match the stamps. Below you will find easy steps to replicate this card.

1. Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score and fold in half to form a vertical side-fold card base. Finished card measures 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″.
2. Using black permanent ink, stamp Teddy Bear Picnic images on White Soft Finish Cardstock. Color with markers or colored pencils of choice. Die cut with matching die set. Color and set aside.
3. Cut Kraft cardstock 4″ x 5 1/4″. Die cut a window using Fitted Squares. See below for placement. Place the die cut Kraft cardstock on the card front to use as a template, lightly outline in pencil. Now open the card base so it is flat and die cut the square opening (cut only the card front).
4. Stamp Happy Birthday on the Kraft cardstock with embossing ink or white pigment ink, centered just below the window opening. Sprinkle with white embossing powder; heat emboss.
5. Cut a piece of tulle slightly larger than the window size and adhere to the front of card. This is cover the complete window.
6. Adhere the Kraft piece to the front of the card base, carefully aligning the window openings.
7. Adhere the two bears on top of the tulle, this gives the illusion they are floating. Don’t worry about the adhesive showing. Step 9 will hide it.
8. Adhere the balloon and flowers to the Kraft piece. Don’t worry about the adhesive showing on the parts that are on the Tulle. Step 9 will hide it.
9. Die cut another set of matching die set with Teddy Bear Picnic images on White Soft Finish Cardstock and adhere to the inside of card directly on the same images used on the front. This will give a clean finish on the inside of your card as well as hiding the adhesive from the diecuts on the front of card.
