Hello friends,
DT Melanie here with today’s inspirational card I made for all of you. This is the very first time using watercolor markers so be gentle with me 🙂 My hubby adores bumble bees since he is a Georgia Tech Yellow Jacket fan, so when he saw this a big smile came over his face. I hope it brings you a bit of happiness as well.
Everyone needs a little motivation at times and I think this “Reach for the Stars” sentiment was perfect for this stamp set.
Above is a close up of the coloring using watercolor markers.
Directions for this card:
Step 1:
Cut an A2-size side-fold card base from yellow cardstock. (4.25″ x 11″ – scored and folded in half)
Step 2:
Cut a floral paper rectangle measuring 4.25″ x 5.5″ and adhere to the card front.
Step 3:
Cut a yellow cardstock rectangle measuring 3 7/8″ x 5 1/8″ and attach to card base using foam tape for dimension. Next, cut a white cardstock rectangle measuring 5″ x 3 3/4″ and emboss with the “Bees” folder. Adhere to yellow layer.
Step 4:
Using permanent black ink, stamp the Honey Bear and tree branch with hive onto watercolor paper and color using watercolor markers or another medium of your choice. Cut with the matching dies.
Step 5:
Using the same black ink, stamp “Reach for the Stars” sentiment from the Dream Sentiment Clear Stamp Set. Cut as a square and mat to a yellow cardstock scalloped-edge square for added interest.
Step 6:
Adhere both of the colored images as well as the sentiment to the card front using foam tape for dimension.
Sit back and enjoy your card… it is sure to make anyone smile!
Thank you for stopping by today. Check back often for more inspiration.
Melanie
