Miss You – Garden Notes Dahlia Card

June 27, 2017

“My heart never knew loneliness… until you went away…”

Dear Friends,

In this age of faster communications, the Internet, messaging apps and social media platforms, it is easy to be connected to the people we love. But the fact remains that showing emotions has always been difficult, even with all of these new modes of communication.

Today I bring to you a lovely hand-crafted card that is a unique way to send a heartfelt message.

I have used the dahlia flower as the central theme. The dahlia is a symbol of inner strength, creativity and standing strong in your sacred values. Dahlia flowers also symbolize a commitment and bond that lasts forever, just like the bond of friendship with the one for whom you are creating this special project.

Step 1. Fold a piece of cardstock measuring 5.25″x10.5″ in half.

Step 2: Add another layer of cardstock and use modeling paste and a flower pattern stencil for texture and dimension. Sprinkle with Solar Gold Silk Microfine Glitter while the paste is still wet for some extra sparkle. Dry thoroughly before adding the next layers.

Step 3: Stamp the sentiment in black.

Step 4: Adhere die cut Entwined Circles and Flower Lace 2, using foam tape to add dimension. Add half-pearls to the Entwined Circles as shown.

Step 5: Create a Garden Notes – Dahlia. Color with PanPastels and/or markers of choice, shape petals and leaves and assemble per Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s instructions. Adhere the dahlia toward the bottom right, overlapping the die cuts. Here is a link to Susan’s Dahlia tutorial: https://stierneyc.wordpress.com/2017/06/27/dahlia/

I hope you all will love this creation.

Have a nice day!
