Follow Yours Dreams – with Butterflies

July 25, 2017

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here today for the Die Cutting Team. Today I am going to show you how to create texture with your stencils. Below you will find instructions and photos so you can replicate the Follow Your Dreams card.

Step 1: Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″. Score and fold in half to form a vertical side-fold card base. Finished size:  4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ (A2).

Step 2: Ink a sheet of paper 4 1/2″ x 5 1/2″ with Distress Oxide. Use 3 colors and apply directly to paper with ink tool. Make sure to blend the colors where they overlap (the ‘in-between’ colors). Spray with water to create the look of droplets.  Set aside to dry.

Step 3: Die cut with the largest Stitched Rectangle, and again with the medium size in the centre of the large rectangle to create a frame (see photo above)

Step 4: Adhere large piece to the card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 5: Turn the medium piece 180 degrees. Place A Way With Stencils – Butterflies and Stars on top and secure it temporarily with masking tape. Apply Texture Paste over the stencil (I am using only the butterflies) and be sure to smooth it out evenly.

Step 6: While paste is still wet add White Silk Microfine Glitter over the butterflies. Allow it to dry before removing the excess glitter.

Step 7: Stamp sentiment from the Dream Sentiments Clear Stamp set to the bottom right hand side of the card., just below the butterflies.

Step 8: Die cut the Lace Corner from White Soft Finish Cardstock and adhere to upper left corner of the butterfly piece. Adhere the assembled panel to center of card using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 9: Optional – add some gems or sequins near the sentiment.

This card can be used for any occasion, just change the stencil and/or the sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by.
