It seems like we are all focused on Halloween and Christmas cards right now, but I thought it would be nice to take a moment to celebrate fall with a colorful bouquet of fall flowers using the new Blossom Time stamp set from Krista Schneider. I love how you can change the seasonal look of flower stamps just by changing their colors and I personally can’t resist all of the yellow, orange and red tones of fall.
Here’s how I made the card:
Step 1: Stamp several of each of the stamps, except for the frilly blue flower, from the Blossom Time Clear Stamps set using permanent black ink on alcohol marker-friendly white cardstock. Color them using the alcohol marker medium of your choice; I used Spectrum Noir markers. Die cut using the matching dies. If desired, add black enamel dot accents to the centers of the flowers and let dry.
Step 2: Using the second largest die in the Dotted Scallop Squares die set, die cut a square from the small leaf and acorn patterned paper found in the ModaScrap Magic Mountain 12 x 12 paper pack. Using 10 mm, 6 mm and 3 mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape and foam tape, arrange and adhere the flowers and leaves as shown. Add Glitter Dots peel-offs if desired. (As shown in photo for Step 3: Red/Gold and Gold/Silver.)
Step 3: Cut a piece of 100 lb. White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5” x 10” and fold in half to create the card base. Stamp the “just a note” sentiment from the Banner Sentiments Clear Stamps set on 85 lb. White Soft Finish Cardstock using a detail black ink. Trim the sentiment down to approximately 1/2” x 3” and cut a banner fishtail into one end. Cut the red paper from the ModaScrap Thinking About Rio de Janeiro 12” x 12” paper pack into a 5” x 5” square and adhere to the front of the card base using 10 mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Layer the scalloped square with the floral arrangement on top of the polka dot paper in the center, also using 10 mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Finally, put a small piece of 3 mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape behind the middle of the banner greeting and adhere it in the lower right portion of the floral arrangement. Staple the end to the polka dot edge to complete the card. Enjoy!
