Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Merry Christmas Card. Christmas is only three days away and if you need a last minute Christmas card, this card is a perfect option. Using the Festive Glow Die from Becky Seddon, the Stitched Ovals Dies from Els van de Burgt Studio and some Christmas patterned paper from ModaScrap this card came together quickly. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!
1. Blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of a 5″ x 5″ piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using the Festive Glow die set, cut from the red-colored cardstock. Die cut the loop piece a second time. TIP: Inks are used to color die cut pieces for steps 1 through 5. This creates wonderful softly blended colors, but an alternative is to die cut solid color cardstock.
2. Die cut the large flame from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Spiced Marmalade Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface.
3. Die cut the small flame from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Fossilized Amber Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface.
4. Die cut both candle pieces from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of each candle piece.
5. Die cut the pine branch nine times from White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use a blending tool with foam to blend Pine Needles Distress Ink over the entire surface of each pine branch.
6. Die cut your choice of patterned paper from the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper pack using the 3 1/2″ Stitched Oval. die. Turn the paper over and die cut the 3″ Stitched Oval (solid color on the back side). Use an Edge Distressor tool to distress the edges of each oval. Ink the edges of each oval with Vintage Photo Distress Ink applied with a blending tool with foam.
7. Choose two more patterned papers from the Xmas Vintage Collection Patterned Paper pack. Cut a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ rectangle from one piece and a 4″ x 5 1/4″ rectangle from the other. Distress and ink the edges of the rectangles, same as in step 6.
8. Using Jet Black Archival Ink, stamp the Merry Christmas sentiment onto White Soft Finish Cardstock. Let the ink dry. Fussy cut around the words, leaving a scant white border as shown in the photo above.
9. Adhere the 4″ wide patterned paper piece to the 4 1/4″ wide patterned paper piece.
10. Adhere the 3″ Stitched Oval to the 3 1/2″ Stitched Oval. Use foam squares to layer the 3 1/2″ Stitched Oval to the middle of the 4″ wide patterned paper piece.
11. Adhere the two candle pieces together. Temporarily ‘park’ the candle in the middle of the 3″ Stitched Oval. Adhere a pine branch 3/4″ from the bottom on both sides of the candle, lifting the candle as needed so the stem end of the branches will not show when the candle is glued in place. Now adhere the candle, overlapping the pine branches per the photo above.
12. Adhere the rest of the pine branches around the bottom of the candle. Trim the length of the branches as needed.
13. Assemble the bow and adhere, centered in front of the candle. Add the flame pieces at the top of the candle.
14. Adhere the card front to a 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ White Soft Finish Cardstock card base. Adhere the Merry Christmas sentiment toward the bottom right.
Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Merry Christmas Card.

The detail on the candle looks amazing. I never would have looked at this die set if you hadn’t shown us your handiwork. Beautiful
