Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Make a Wish Note Card. With the New Year here, you always seem to need birthday cards right away, so why not get a jump start on creating some for your card box. Using a variety of dies from Joset Designs, the Entwined Circles Die from Els van de Burgt Studio and some floral patterned paper from ModaScrap this card came together quickly. I hope that you enjoy my tutorial!
1. To start, choose three different patterned papers from ModaScrap’s Relax in the Garden paper collection. Cut one piece to 4″ x 4″, cut a second piece to 3 3/4″ x 3 3/4″ and cut the third piece to 3 1/2″ x 3 1/2″. Distress the edges of the papers with an edge distressor. Ink the edges of the papers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
2. From the back side of the fly sheet from the Relax in the Garden patterned paper, cut a piece that measures 3 1/4″ x 3 1/4″. Place the Decorative Edges 1 die with the “x’s” at the bottom of the paper and die cut. Distress the edges of the paper with an edge distressor. Ink the edges of the paper using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
3. Die cut two small Entwined Circles out of patterned paper from the Relax in the Garden patterned paper pack. Ink the edges of the circles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
4. Die cut the pennant flags from the Celebration Flags die out of patterned paper from the Relax in the Garden patterned paper pack. Ink the edges of the flags using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
5. From the Stitched Stars die set, use the 3″ star to cut patterned (striped) paper from the Relax in the Garden Paper Pack. Ink the edges of the stitched star using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
6. Die cut the 2 1/2″ Fitted Star from patterned (botanical print) paper, a sheet from the Relax in the Garden Paper Pack. Ink the edges using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
7. Die cut the curved banner, a die from the Banners die set, from the back side of the fly sheet in the Relax in the Garden Paper Pack. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the “make a wish” sentiment and stamp in the middle of the banner. Ink the edges using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.
8. Adhere the 3 1/2″ patterned paper piece to the 3 3/4″ patterned paper piece. Adhere the 3 3/4″ patterned paper piece to the 4″ patterned paper piece.
9. Use foam squares to adhere the 3 1/4″ piece of paper to the 3 1/2″ patterned paper piece, adding dimension.
10. Adhere one of the Entwined Circles to the middle of the 3 1/4″ piece of paper. Adhere the other Entwined Circle on top of the first one, making sure that they are rotated so they appear to be randomly positioned. Adhere the pennant at an angle at the top right corner of the card front, allowing it to extend beyond the rectangle.
11. Adhere the Fitted Star to the Stitched Star. Use foam squares to adhere the layered stars over the Entwined Circles. Adhere the “Make a Wish” banner as shown.
12. For a finishing touch, accent the Entwined Circles and banner with Turquoise/Silver Glitter-Dots peel-offs.
13. Adhere the completed card front panel to the top-fold card base.
Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Make a Wish Note Card.
