Easter Wishes

March 1, 2018

Hi friends, it’s Sandy Diller with you today sharing a fun card for Easter.  One of my teammates showed how they hang eggs as decorations in Italy and I really liked the idea so I gave it a go!  I used the Happy Frame for this project to get the depth needed to accommodate the dimensional bows and Dogwood branch on the inside of the card.  Enjoy.

The finished size of this card is 5″ X 6.25″.

Step 1 – Using the Happy Frame die, cut 4 times.  Because this is a custom size, the frame needs to be trimmed down.  When cutting the frame down, trim off the end that is squared.  Note the photo above.   Measure from the mitered end to desired length.  For this card the frame was trimmed to 4.75″ X 6″.

Step 2 – Assemble frame.

Step 3 – Cut cardstock for cover.  Cut 10.5″ by 6.25″ – score at 5″ and 5.5″.

Step 4 -Cut one panel to fit behind frame, glue this panel to back of frame leaving the top section unglued. You will see why a little later.

Step 5 – Using the Dashing Rectangle die – cut one panel using largest die for inside of card.  Cut two panels using the second largest die and two panels using fourth largest die of the set.

Step 6 – Using the Color My Easter Eggs clear stamp set, stamp several eggs on coordinating papers.  For this card the images were stamped with VersaMark Ink and then embossed in white.

Step 7 – Using the Color My Easter Eggs die set – cut out eggs.

Step 8 – Using the Color My Easter Eggs die set – cut bows using coordinating papers.

Step 9 – Assemble bows and add to eggs.  Cut long, very thin, strips for strings.  On back of eggs, add double backed tape or pop dot to give dimension.

Step 10 – Using the Adventure Edges die – cut one section of grass for the front of the card.

Step 11 – Using the Word Set 3 – Happy Holidays – cut out the words “happy easter”

Step 12 – Using the Dogwood 2 die set – cut and assemble the Dogwood branch.  To see an expert video from the designer herself,  CLICK HERE.  Susan explains how to assemble the dogwood much better than I can.

Step 13 – Place length of ribbon across the outside of card.

Step 14 – Decorate front panel with grass, eggs and words.

Step 15 – Add panels to card while flat.   Adding the panels to the back of the card is not necessary but it makes the card stronger and helps hold the ribbon in place.

Step 16 – Add eggs to framed panel running the strings through the opening left on the top.

Step 17 – Add Dogwood branch to top, trim off strings and add glue to close the opening.

This little project was so much fun to make – I hope you will give it a go,

Have fun and Happy Easter,

S@ndy
