A Floral Hello

April 12, 2018

Hello everyone! Samantha here, sharing a card I created with all intentions of making it a single-layer card…But once I had stamped these pretty flowers I knew that I wanted to create more dimension so I made the flowers pop off this fun little ‘hello’ card!

Here are the instructions:

Step 1: On Copic-friendly cardstock (measurements: 5.25 inches x 6.5 inches) stamp the ‘hello’ sentiment and floral images from the Laundry Party Clear Stamp set.

Step 2: Colour the flowers and leaves.

Step 3: Stamp some more flowers on Copic-friendly cardstock, colour and then fussy-cut around them leaving a narrow white ‘halo’ of cardstock.

Step 4: Die cut the card front using the largest rectangle from the Dashing Rectangles die set.

Step 5: Optional: Add machine stitched lines above and below the word ‘HELLO’ as shown.

Step 6: Mat card front to yellow card base.

Step 7: Using foam tape for dimension, adhere fussy-cut flowers directly on top of the matching flower.

Step 8: Embellish card front with sequins and twine.

As you can see in the photo below, the dimensional elements add lots of interest to the card, however it would also be great with just a single layer…

Here is a video showing the card making process of this card.

Krista’s Laundry Party stamp set is so pretty I didn’t just stop at one card. I decided to create two additional cards to add to my card stash for those just-in-case moments. I used two of the sentiments from General Sentiments stamp set. I find I never have enough Thank You or Thinking of You cards, and the floral arrangements fits the sentiments perfectly!

Thank you for stopping by – hope you enjoyed my tutorial today.
