Cheers Notecard

June 14, 2018

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Cheers Notecard. Summer is right around the corner and with it comes summer parties, so why not have a cute notecard on hand to add to that hostess gift. Using a variety of dies from ModaScrap and Joset Designs I was able to create this fun Cheers Card. I hope you enjoy my tutorial!

All the dies used to make the tropical drink cup come in the Summer Drink die set.

1. Die cut the cup twice from White Soft Finish Cardstock. On the second cup, cut the lip portion off. Using a blending tool with foam, ink the edges of the cup and lip edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

2. Die cut the ice cubes twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, ink the edges of the cup and lid with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

3. Die cut the pineapple three times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Squeezed Lemonade Distress Ink over the entire surface of each pineapple.

4. Die cut the straw out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink over the entire surface of the straw.

5. The umbrella is die cut twice out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. On the second umbrella, cut out two of the umbrella pieces. On the first umbrella, use a blending tool with foam to blend Gathered Twigs Distress Ink on the edges, top and bottom of the umbrella. To finish off the first umbrella, use a blending tool with foam and blend Twisted Citron Distress Ink over the umbrella portion. On the pieces cut from the second umbrella, use a blending tool with foam to blend Gathered Twigs Distress Ink on the edges of the pieces. To finish off the second umbrella pieces, use a blending tool with foam to blend Mermaid Lagoon Distress Ink on the rest of the umbrella pieces.  You’ll also need to die cut the dot out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Festive Berries Distress Ink over the circle. TIP: Use solid color cardstock for straw, pineapple, umbrella and dot if you prefer.

6. Die cut the label out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Cheers stamp from the Beach Sentiments and stamp onto the label. Ink the edges of the label using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

7. Adhere the lip of the cup to the full cup.

8. At the bottom of the cup, adhere the ice cubes as desired. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the pineapple slices over the ice cubes.

9. Adhere the Cheers label as shown.

10. Adhere the pieces to the umbrella. Adhere the umbrella to the left hand side of the cup, make sure the stick of the umbrella slides into the lip of the cup. Adhere the straw to the right side of the cup, make sure the straw slides into the lip of the cup.

11. From the Dashing Rectangles die set, die cut the 3″ rectangle out of a piece of tropical patterned paper (shown: A weave pattern). Ink the edges of the rectangle using Vintage Photo Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam. Adhere the cup to the rectangle using foam tape. Cut a card base that measures 4 1/4″ x6″, score at 3″ and fold in half. Adhere the card front to the card base.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Cheers Notecard.
