Hi everyone! Angela Whelton here as your guest designer. Today’s card is one that I’ve made for my daughter’s birthday. Her favourite flower is the peony …so of course I had to go with Susan’s beautiful Peony 2. I’ve also used several of her new dies including the Forsythia and the Frosty Fern. The Frame It Stitched Ovals provided just the right shape for the background.
Here’s how to make it.
Step 1 – Cut, score, and fold a piece of 100lb Soft Finish cardstock to create a 6 1/4 x 4 3/4 inch side-fold card base.
Step 2 – Cut a piece of green cardstock to 6 1/8 x 4 1/2 inches and adhere to card front with Clear Double Sided Adhesive.
Step 3 – Cut a piece of ModaScrap Wood Effects paper to 5 7/8 x 4 1/4 inches. Using the third smallest die in the Frame It Ovals set, cut an oval from the center. Adhere to card front.
Step 4 – From the cutout, create a small frame using the smallest and second smallest dies. Adhere to card front as in photo. Stamp sentiment using black ink and heat emboss with clear embossing powder. (Stamp shown: Suzanne Cannon’s Soar Collection.)
Step 5 – Cut 2 each of the Frosty Ferns from 80lb Soft Finish cardstock. Colour with Copic markers.
Step 6 – Cut Forsythia stems, leaves and flowers. Colour with Copic markers. Shape with Susan’s 4 piece tool set, molding mat and leaf pad.
Step 7 – Cut pieces for peony. For flower, cut 2 large pieces, 4 of the next size and 2 each of the remaining petal pieces. Colour center petals with Copic markers. Shape petals. For bud, do not use largest petal peices and cut the rest as for the flower. Colour center petals and shape.
8 Assemble and adhere flowers directly to the card front as in the photos using Kids Choice Glue.
And your card is complete!
Thanks for stopping by!

Gorgeous card. I love peonies, and the offset ovals are a nice element.
