Hawaiian Vibes – Card and Triangle Box

June 29, 2018

Hello everybody!

It’s Sara here today and I have a new project for you. Actually, it’s two coordinating projects featuring a lot of summery products.

This projects reminds me so much of Hawaii that I decided to take photos of it that evoke the islands even more instead of against a plain piece of board, with some leaves and a black rock background just like in a magazine.

Here is how I created my projects:

Pick two Distress Oxide Ink pads in colors of choice. Remember that only Oxide Inks are so brilliant on the Kraft brown cardstock. Shown: Peeled Paint and Forest Moss.

Step 1 – Prepare a home-made stencil with the ModaScrap Leaf Pocket die.

Step 2 – Create a background on the card front with the stencil and the lighter of the two Distress Oxide inks.

Step 2 – Offset the stencil just a little bit and repeat the first step with the darker Distress Oxide.

Step 3 – Add some gold splatters to create the effect shown below.

Step 4 – Prepare one small and one big Hawaiian flower, one to embellish the card front and one to embellish the triangle box. (By now you will have seen the steps for both card and triangle box in other tutorials)

Step 5 – For the triangle box: prepare a small circle with Dashing Circles by ModaScrap for the base of the flower, punch a little hole and make a knot at the end of a 3” elastic band. Adhere the smaller flower and place the elastic as shown in the photos.

Step 6 – For the card: die cut a rectangle into the card front, making sure that it is the right size for the sentiment you have chosen. Shown: The smallest rectangle from the new Frame It die set by Susan’s Garden. Place the card onto a stamping platform, position the stamp in t he opening, close the platform and secure the magnets. Stamp the sentiment. Adhere the larger flower to the card front.

Here are some close-up photos to show the details. I hope you like the projects!

Thanks for stopping by!
