Spring Flower Wreath

July 2, 2018

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  I have designed a card using Susan’s new Garden Notes Flowering Trees of Spring die set along with two of her Garden Notes wreath sets.

The finished card measures 6×6 inches.

Step 1.  Cut a piece of the ModaScrap Relax In The Garden paper 6×6 inches.  Distress the edges and sponge with light brown ink.  Adhere to the front of the card.

Step 2.  Using the Garden Notes Evergreen Wreath and the Garden Notes Grapevine Wreath die sets, cut two of each wreath from brown cardstock.  Tip: By using two different die cut wreaths, you can create a very full looking wreath.  Glue the wreaths together, alternating the two different die cut wreaths, adding glue only to small areas in the center of the wreath.  Gently bend some of the branches upward to give the wreath dimension.

Step 3. Useing the Garden Notes Flowering Trees of Spring die set, cut enough petals to create 13 flowers from white cardstock. Sponge light pink ink on the edges of each petal.  Shape the flowers with the Flower Tool Kit and assemble using Kids Choice Glue.  Die cut the stamens from light yellow cardstock.  Use the Elizabeth Craft Designs Fine Pointed Scissors to split each projection in the stamen to make them thinner.  Add Yellow Pollen to the tips, using a tiny dab of Kids Choice Glue to hold the Pollen in place. Glue the stamens into the center of each flower.  Attach the flowers to the wreath, taking care not to flatten the branches. Die cut the leaves, shape with the Flower Tool Kit and attach around the flowers.  Bend the branches upward again if they’ve gotten mashed down.

Attach the wreath to the center of the card front.

Step 4.  Die cut the Lovebirds. Sponge on inks using soft colors in keeping with the colors of the flowers. Adhere in the center of the wreath.

Step 5.  Stamp and die cut the sentiment using the Sentiments 2 – Just Because stamp and die sets. Die cut two extra pieces and glue to the back of the stamped sentiment to add dimension.  Adhere at an angle in the upper left corner of the card front.

Step 6.  Accent the corners of the card with a trio of adhesive-backed half-pearls in rows from largest to smallest as shown.

This dimensional card will mail nicely in one of the sturdy clear acrylic boxes linked below. Or tie the box with ribbon and deliver it in person.
