Hexagon Shaker Card With Flamingo Accent

July 3, 2018

Hi Everyone! It’s Tina here today. I have a fun Hexagon Shaker Card to share with you using the new Fitted and Stitched Hexagons die sets and the super cute Flamingos die. Below you will find the easy steps to replicate this card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score and fold at 4 1/4″ for a vertical side-fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim a piece of ModaScrap ‘My Little Girl’ patterned paper to fit the card front. Die cut Fitted Hexagon toward the right as shown below.

Step 3 – Die cut Fitted Hexagon (one size larger than hexagon used to cut the background panel) from an acetate sheet and another patterned paper from the same ModaScrap collection used in Step 2.

Step 4 – Adhere acetate to the back side of the background panel using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape. Adhere 2 layers of foam tape all along the back edges of the Hexagon window (make sure there is no open space between the six pieces of foam tape). Use anti-stick powder all along the inside edges of the foam tape to ensure that beads won’t stick to the sides of the Hexagon. Add the beads. Using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape, adhere the larger patterned paper piece inside the window to seal it on all six sides. This completes the shaker element.

Step 5 – From White Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut a Stitched Hexagon for the outer edge and a Fitted Hexagon for the window opening to create a window frame for the card front. Adhere as shown. Note: The Fitted Hexagon size die is the same used to create Step 2. Adhere around the acetate-backed opening using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 6 – Die cut Flamingos (large Flamingo only) from ModaScrap My Little Girl paper. Assemble pieces using Kids Choice Glue. Adhere to the card front, overlapping the shaker as shown.

Step 7 – Add a fishtail banner with a sentiment in gold, crossing the flamingo’s legs toward the bottom left.

This card can be used for any occasion by changing the patterned paper, colors and/or sentiment. Below are links to all Elizabeth Craft Designs Product Used. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!
