Glitter Tree

August 20, 2018

Hi Everyone!  It’s Karen here.  I’m excited to be showcasing one of the newly released die sets from Joset Designs!  It’s the fun and versatile Elegant Christmas Tree.  For today’s project I used the die set, some of the amazing Silk Microfine Glitter and some Nuvo Drops to create a holiday card.

Here are the steps:

Step 1. From 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a rectangle measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″; score at 5.5″ and fold in half to create a top-fold card base.

Step 2. Die cut the Elegant Christmas Tree die (the full silhouette shape) from 85 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock with adhesive on the front.  Die cut the swirling decorative overlay from White Soft-Finish Cardstock with the adhesive on the back.

Step 3.  Stamp the sentiment “Be Merry” from the Classic Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamps onto White Soft Finish Cardstock with permanent black ink and die cut with the smallest Dashing Circles die.

Step 4.  Peel the release sheet from the silhouette Christmas tree and cover with Forest Green Silk Microfine Glitter.  Tap the excess glitter back into the coffee filter and pour back into the jar.  Polish the glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 5.  Peel the release sheet from the swirling overlay and adhere to the glittered version.

Step 6.  Die cut a Dashing Rectangle from White Soft Finish Cardstock for the card front.  Wrap a piece of white seam binding ribbon around the card front toward the bottom. Adhere to the card base.

Step 7.  Adhere the tree to the rectangular panel.

Step 8.  Adhere the sentiment to the left of the tree, overlapping it as shown.

Step 9.  Add Nuvo Drops in assorted colors to resemble tree ornaments.

Step 10.  Die cut a star from the Elegant Christmas Tree die set from White Soft Finish Cardstock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the front. Cover with Yellow Silk Microfine Glitter. Polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle. Adhere the star at the top of the tree.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out all the FUN holiday dies at Elizabeth Craft Designs!

Craftily yours,

Karen

I’m confused. Shouldn’t the adhesive sheets be on the FRONT of the silhouette and the BACK of the overlay?

Yes, you are absolutely correct. So sorry about that, and I have corrected my post.
