Penguin Window Card

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. By now you should have seen the new release from Joset Designs for Winter/Holiday. I am so excited with her new release. There are Classic Winter/Holiday dies along with 4 new Character dies!!! Today I am showcasing the Penguin Character die along with the Garden Notes Frame It Stitched Oval Die and ModaScrap Unconventional Christmas Patterned Paper. Below are the steps to replicate this card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold card. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim two pattern papers from the ModaScrap Unconventional Christmas Patterned Paper Pack to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″ and adhere one to card front and one to the inside using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 3 – Die cut  the Garden Notes Frame It Stitched Oval to the center of the card front. This will create your window.

Step 4 – Die cut Penguin using various colors of cardstock. (I used White Soft Finish Cardstock for the Penguin’s face & inked Distress Oxide Ink Wild Honey for nose and feet, Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock for the body and ModaScrap Unconventional Christmas Patterned Paper for the scarf.) Assemble Penguin and adhere to the inside of card using foam tape making sure that when the card is closed the Penguin is inside the frame.

Step 5 – Stamp  the sentiment from the Classic Christmas Sentiments Clear Stamp set using the same patterned paper used in the inside of card with Versafine Onyx Black Ink. Die cut the stamped sentiment using the double ended fishtail banner from the Banners die set. Adhere to the front of card towards the bottom of the frame using Kid’s Choice Glue to the edges.

Step 6 – Optional – Adhere sequins for added interest and sparkle.

This frame card design can be used for any occasion by changing the patterned paper and sentiment, as well as changing the character die in the center for a flower from the Garden Notes collection.
