Hello Sunshine

September 7, 2018

Good Morning.  This is Selma Stevenson today.  Autumn is not far away and I have a card designed using Susan’s Garden Notes Sunflowers and Joset’s Pumpkin die sets.

Step 1.  Create a 6-inch square card base from Chocolate Soft Finish Cardstock. Add a white square to the front of the card.

Step 2.  Cut a piece of Chocolate Cardstock 5 3/4 inches square and distress the edges.

Step 3.  Use the Garden Notes Frame It/Stitched Circle die set to create an opening on the upper right side of the brown square.  Use the 6th die down for this circle.

Step 4.  Use the 5th down Dashing Circle die and the 6th down Garden Notes Frame It/Stitched Circle to die cut a narrow frame from Cafe-au-Lait Soft Finish Cardstock.  Attach the die cut frame over the opening in the brown cardstock.

Step 5.  Use a 4-inch piece of watercolor paper to create a backing under the die cut circle.  Add Gathered Twigs, Pine Needles, and Wild Honey Distress Oxide Inks to your craft mat, spritz with water and dip the watercolor paper in to color the entire piece.  Dry with heat tool and attach on the back of the die cut opening.  Attach this square to the front of the card.

Step 6.  Using the Pumpkin die set, cut two tall pumpkins and one short one, along with the stems, leaves and vines from White Soft Finish Cardstock.  To color the pumpkins sponge on Wild Honey, Spiced Marmalade, and Carved Pumpkin Distress Oxide Inks.  Sponge on lightest color first and working to the darkest color around the edges to create realistic modeling of the pumpkin shapes.  Sponge Pine Needles Distress Ink on leaves, stems and vines.  Glue green pieces to pumpkins.

Step 7.  Use the Garden Notes Berry Spray to die cut two berry sprays using brown card stock.  Use Autumn Red Nuvo Crystal Drops for the berries.  Set aside to dry.

Step 8.  Use the Leafy Branch die set to die cut three green branches.  Lightly sponge rust ink over edges of leaves.  Use a light brown marker to color the center of each branch.

Step 9.  Use the Garden Notes Sunflower 2 die set to create pieces for three sunflowers.  Use yellow cardstock to die cut the flower petals and color the center using the yellow orange PanPastels.  Shape the flowers using Susan’s Flower Tool Kit.  Assemble the flowers using Kids Choice Glue.  Add small dots of glue over the center of the flowers and sprinkle with Brown Pollen.

Step 10.  Using the CountryScapes Nantucket Arbor & Picket Fence die set, cut one white fence.

Step 11. Stamp ‘hello sunshine!’ in the circle.

Step 12. Arrange and adhere all elements on the card front as shown in the project photo.
