Joset Designs Silk Microfine Glitter Soft Finish Cardstock

‘Tis The Season

September 17, 2018

Greetings! Samantha here. Today I’m sharing some Christmas-themed cards using Elizabeth Craft Designs’ Snowflake Border. Snowflakes aren’t something I would see at Christmastime where I live (in Australia) but I have always loved the idea of a white Christmas. For my cards today I decided to use some non-traditional colours and partnered the die with the newly-released Classic Christmas Sentiments stamp set.

Card Instructions:

Step 1: Using White Soft Finish Cardstock, die cut the Snowflake Border.  Trim this to 2 inches x 5 1/2 inches (5cm x 14.5cm).

Step 2: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive to white cardstock and die-cut the Border outline. Trim this to fit behind the detailed Snowflake Border die cut.

Step 3: Remove the adhesive backing and apply glitter. Cover all the exposed adhesive. Remove excess glitter, then use your fingertip to polish the glitter into the adhesive to bring out the maximum sparkle. Tip: Polish in a circular motion.

Step 4: Adhere the glittered panel behind the detailed Snowflake Border.

Step 5: Stamp the sentiment on white cardstock. Trim and create a small banner. Measurements: 1/2 inch x 3 1/2 inches (1.3cm x 9cm)

Step 6: Create a second banner using blue cardstock. Measurements: 5/8 inch x 4 inches (1.5cm x 10cm)

Step 7: Assemble card. Adhere Snowflake Border to a white card front (Measurements:  4 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches (10.5cm x 14.5cm ). (Optional) Add machine-stitched border (shown below). Adhere this to card base.

Step 8: Adhere banner sentiment. Embellish card with sequins and a twine bow.

Below are two more examples using this beautiful Snowflake Border die set. Change the orientation of the border, choose different stamps, and use different glitter colours as shown or as you prefer.

Which colour do you prefer? Do you like creating cards using non-traditional Christmas colours?

Happy Crafting!

Samantha
