Hello crafters!!
I’m Luciana, here to share with you a vintage holly ornament. It’s perfect for your Christmas tree or you could use it as a tag to decorate a holiday gift.
Step 1
Die cut two circles from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the Garden Notes – Frame It/ Stitched Circles die set. Cut one of the two circles with a smaller die to create a frame.
Step 2
Using inks and an applicator tool, lightly color the two pieces of cardstock to create a mottled, vintage look. Stamp ‘Merry Christmas’ with black ink, positioned off to the side of the solid circle as shown (stamp from the Classic Christmas Sentiments set).
Step 3
Die cut a hinge using a die from the Stand Up Helpers 3 – Hinges set. (Fold the cardstock before die cutting.)
Adhere the frame to the stamped circle. Attach the hinge to the top of the ornament using two mini brads as shown below.
Step 4
Stamp images from the Poinsettia stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock. Color with watercolors.
Step 5
Use the coordinating Poinsettia die set to cut out the stamped images.
Step 6
Spatter the ornament to create some speckles. Arrange and adhere the die cut pieces as shown or to suit your preference. Embellish with wooden numbers (25) or other decorations.
Step 7
Add a loop of natural twine and matching bow, or just a loop. Other options: Use narrow ribbon, baker’s twine, or metallic braid.
Choose a different sentiment and arrange the elements in other ways to make a variety of ornaments!
I really hope you have enjoyed this tutorial! Thank you for stopping by.
