Season’s Greetings Poinsettia Card

October 22, 2018

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here today. My card has a do-it-yourself background in a muted color topped with a softly-colored poinsettia, all using the same Poinsettia Stamp set. The steps to replicate this card are below.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″; score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side-fold card base. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish cardstock to 5 1/2” x 4 1/4”. Randomly and repeatedly stamp the two foliage images using ink in a muted color of choice. Shown: Distress Oxide in Hickory Smoke. Adhere to card base using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 3 – Stamp Poinsettia onto watercolor paper using VersaMark ink. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder, remove excess and heat set with a heat tool. Color the Poinsettia with any watercolor medium. Shown: Zig Clean Color Markers. When dry, die cut with matching die. Adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 4 – Stamp Season’s Greetings sentiment from the Classic Christmas Sentiments stamp set using VersaFine Ink in Onyx Black toward the bottom left of the card. Option: If using a stamp platform, do not adhere the die cut poinsettia to the card until AFTER stamping the sentiment!

Step 5 – For extra dimension and sparkle add some Crystal Nuvo Drops in Morning Dew.

I hope this combination of a muted do-it-yourself background plus a big stamp with color has inspired you. This card can be used for any occasion by changing the stamps and the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.

So gorgeous! When you color with the Zig clean watercolor markers, did you go direct to paper? Thank you!
