Winter Frame

Hello Crafters! I’m Luciana and today I’ll share with you a card project that I called “Winter Frame.”
I love the new stamps by Krista Schneider with all the woodland animals in their winter sweaters.

Step 1. Die cut two rectangles from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the third largest die from the Dashing Rectangles set. Cut one of these with the fifth largest die from the same set to create a frame. Color them with two Distress Oxide ink pads.

Step 2. Using black ink, stamp the fox and bear from the Winter Animals stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock. Color with watercolors and die cut with the Winter Animals die set.

Step 3. Adhere them on the background of the frame. Decorate with additional elements, for example stamps from the Poinsettia set.

Step 4. Using foam tape, adhere the frame above the background.

Step 5. Cut 4 sets of pieces using Garden Notes – Poinsettia. Color some pieces with dark green, and some others with light green just in the center as shown in the photo below.

To create the shadows on the smallest pieces, use an eye shadow applicator.

Step 6. Use the leaf tool and the leaf pad to add vein details.

For more realistic flowers,  find a photo of poinsettias to use as a reference or watch Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s YouTube video tutorial.

step 7. Use the ball tool and the molding pad to create even more dimension.

step 8. Layer and adhere the two poinsettias as shown below.

Step 9. Cut a 5″ x 7″ rectangle from Dove Gray Soft Finish Cardstock; adhere the frame in the lower right corner. Then glue the two poinsettias toward the left side of the frame.Add green holly leaves toward the upper right and near the poinsettias.

Add more little details with 3D paint and a fine point black pen.
