Clematis ‘Save the Date’ Card

November 15, 2018

Hello Crafters! I’m Luciana here, and today we’ll create a floral “Save the Date” card for a wedding or other special event.

Step 1. Die cut from White Soft Finish Cardstock 4 sets of Garden Notes – Clematis (also the stems) and color them as shown below.

Step 2. Use the loop tool and the mold pad to create the center veins on the petals.

Step 3. Use the ball tool and the molding pad to finish the shaping.

Step 4.  Using Fine Pointed Scissors, create a fringe in all the pieces that make up the pistils, cutting the strips 3 times for a more dimensional effect.

Step 5. Shape the rounded pistils with the ball tool and the molding pad, and the rectangular ones with the tweezers.

step 6. Layer and adhere the four flowers as shown below.

Step 7. Use the leaf tool and the leaf pad to add vein details to the leaves, and the tweezers to shape them.

Step 8. Create a curve in the center of the stems with the ball tool and the molding pad, and glue two layers together for greater strength.

Step 9. Create a frame from White Soft Finish Cardstock with the Garden Notes – Frame It/ Stitched Rectangles die set.

Step 10. Use a rectangle 19cm x 14cm to create a watercolor background.

Step 11. Stamp the leafed frame and the sentiment “save the date” from the Wedding Sentiments stamp set onto a 21 x 12 cm strip of  vellum.

step 12. Adhere the stems onto the background. Adhere the strip of vellum. Attach the frame with foam tape. Aarrange and adhere the flowers and leaves as shown in the photos below.

I hope you have enjoyed this tutorial! Thank you for stopping by.

This is a beautiful arrangement of perfectly made flowers! Thank you for showing the step by step construction of the leaves and clematis; it is most helpful and inspiring. Well done!
