This project starts with a Merry Christmas or Season’s Greetings die from Suzanne Cannon’s A Way With Words collection, a purchased Christmas stocking and pre-made wire-beaded leaves. All of the elements are secured to the velvet cuff with gem glue, ideal for adhering die cut Shimmer Sheetz to fabric.
Step 1 – Die cut a greeting (Merry Christmas, Season’s Greetings, other), four flowers and a branch or two from Ruby Gemstone Shimmer Sheetz. (Reminder: Review Els van de Burgt’s YouTube tutorial if you are new to die cutting Shimmer Sheetz, a metal adaptor plate is REQUIRED.)
Step 2 – Using the photos to help with placement, arrange and adhere the greeting, flowers, branches and wire-beaded leaves to the cuff of a purchases stocking, using small dabs of Beacon GemTac glue.
Step 3 – Add a gem to the center of each flower.
Step 4 – Option: If you enjoy hand sewing, use Kreinik #8 braid and a couching stitch to secure the greeting, leaves and branches. Switch to a bead needle and sewing thread; add beads to the center of the flowers.

This is gorgeous Judi! Love the drama between the fabric and Shimmer Sheetz. And thanks for the tip about the glue! I’m good to go!
That adds so much to the stocking! So pretty!
