Elf In The Window Card

November 27, 2018

Hi Everyone, it’s Tina here. Today I have a fun holiday card to share with you. As a child, did you ever try to see an elf in the middle of the night during the holiday season? Or catch Santa placing the presents under your tree? My card was inspired by this. Here are instructions so you can make your own Elf in the Window card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 8 1/2″ x 5 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″ and fold in half for a vertical side-fold card base. (A2)

Step 2 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ X 5 1/2″. Apply Distress Oxide Ink using an ink applicator as follows: Starting in the center a little to the left blend Tumbled Glass; working out to Stormy Sky, then Faded Jeans, and Black Soot. To create the snowflakes, put some white acrylic paint on an acrylic block or craft sheet. Add some water and mix to thin it down. Use a fine waterbrush to pick up the paint from the acrylic block or craft sheet and splatter it onto the cardstock. Let dry. For added interest and sparkle spray with Shimmer Spritz. Let dry. Adhere the panel to the front of the card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 3 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 5 1/2″. Apply Distress Ink directly on the cardstock. Vintage Photo, Victorian Velvet and Bungled Sage. This will be used to create a wood frame. See photo below.

Step 4 – Die cut Garden Notes Square Window and Flower Box using the background created from Step 3. Adhere to card using foam tape.

Step 5 – Stamp Elf, stars, and one of the Christmas Kids using VersafFne Onyx Black Ink. Color in with any color medium of your choice. I used Winsor & Newton ProMarkers. Die cut images with the matching dies. Adhere to card using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 6 – Stamp Cute Winter Sentiment using VersaMark ink onto Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Gold Embossing Powder and heat set with a heat tool.

Step 7 – Die cut the sentiment from Step 6 with the Stitched Fishtail Banners die, Adhere to card using 3mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

I hope you enjoyed this holiday card. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day.
