Sweet Polar Bear

December 12, 2018

It’s Karen here.  The Elizabeth Craft Designs characters are just adorable.  Today I’m using the sweet Polar Bear die set and the Snowflakes Clear Stamps to create a fun and cute Christmas card!

Here are the steps to replicate the card:

Step 1. From 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock, cut a rectangle measuring 4-1/4″ x 11″; score at 5-1/2″ and fold in half to create a top-fold card base.

Step 2. Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock at 4-1/4″ x 5-1/2″ and adhere 4″ double-sided adhesive to the back of it.  Die cut the pieces of the Polar Bear (except for the brim and the pom-pom of the hat) with the adhesive side down.  Cut the brim and the pom-pom with the adhesive side up so the adhesive will be on the front of those shapes.

Step 3.  Apply Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter to the brim and pom-pom. Brush off excess and return it to the jar. Polish the glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.

Step 4.  Color the pieces of the Polar Bear.  I used Copic marker C1 to edge the bear, C7 for the nose and eyes, R81 for the ears, and B41 for the hat.  Using Kids Choice Glue, layer and adhere the pieces to create the bear.

Step 5.  Cut another piece of 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock and create a background on it using Tim Holtz Distress Oxides in Salty Ocean and Worn Lipstick along with a couple spritzes of water.  Die cut a Dashing Circle out of this background (approx diameter of 3.5″).

Step 6.  Adhere the 4″ Double-Sided Adhesive to the back of a piece of Tim Holtz Metallic Silver and die cut the Merry Christmas-Small die.  Adhere this to the Distress Oxide Circle.  (Adding the adhesive before die cutting turns the die cut into a sticker – so easy!)

Step 7.  Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock at 4″ x 5-1/4″ for the card front.  Stamp random snowflakes from the Snowflakes Clear Stamps using VersaMark ink.  Add Ranger Silver Pearl Embossing Powder and heat set.

Step 8.  Add a piece of lace and silver ribbon around the card ront.

Step 9.  Using pop-tape, adhere the circle to the card front.  Also using pop-tape, add the Polar Bear.

Step 10.  Add a small silver bow.

Thanks so much for stopping by.  Be sure to check out all the FUN characters at Elizabeth Craft Designs!

Craftily yours,

Karen

I love the polar bear and the soft color for his hat. Cutting out the circle and having a great background circle for the sentiment (love the silver) is perfect.
