Hello! Welcome! Samantha here – Today I’m sharing a sweet Christmas card. Candy Canes are such an iconic Christmas lolly. I couldn’t resist taking the dies from the Hot Chocolate set and turning them in to the main feature on my card…Here is what I came up with!
Card Instructions:
Step 1: Die cut 18 of the solid candy canes from white cardstock.
Step 2: Die cut 13 of the decorative (striped) overlays from red card stock.
(Tip: Alternatively try using Shimmer Sheetz or patterned paper)
Step 3: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the front of White Soft Finish Cardstock.
Step 4: Die cut 5 decorative overlay candy canes.
Step 5: Working one cane at a time, remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of True Red Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.
Step 6: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive to the front of White Soft Finish Card stock measuring 7 cm x 4 cm.
Step 7: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer. Apply a generous amount of Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.
Step 8: Stamp the sentiment from Cute Winter Sentiments on a red cardstock retangle (6.5 cm x 3.5 cm).
Step 9: (Optional) Add machine stitched details to the sentiment.
Step 10: Adhere the assembled candy canes to a 5 x 7 inch white cardstock panel. Adhere rectangle glitter panel, followed by the sentiment. Embellish card with sequins and a twine bow.
Step 11: Adhere panel to a 5 x 7 inch card base.
I think the pops of glitter on some of the candy canes makes this card perfect for the festive season!
Happy crafting and hope you enjoyed my tutorial today.
Wishing everyone a wonderful and safe Christmas!
Samantha
