Hello! Welcome! Samantha here sharing a simple background technique using the hills die from Elizabeth Craft Designs Adventure Edges. Landscape dies are one of my favourite die designs –– there’s quite a few ways to use them and if you think outside the box you can create fun backgrounds like the one I’ve created in my card today!
Card Instructions:
Step 1: Colour in three butterflies using your preferred colouring medium.
Step 2: Adhere Clear Double Sided Adhesive (measurement 3cm x 16cm) to the front of White Soft Finish Cardstock.
Step 3: Remove the release sheet to expose the adhesive layer and apply a generous amount of Diva Silk Microfine Glitter. Brush off excess glitter and return it to the jar, then polish with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.
Step 4: Die cut the Adventure Edges die.
Step 5: Die cut again to create a thin wavy strip.
Step 6: Using a selected choice of card stock colours, die cut the Adventure Edges die again. Adhering each one on top of another (like a puzzle piece) to create your backgound.
Step 7: Trim off the excess card and stamp the sentiment.
Step 8: (Optional) Add machine Stitched details.
Step 9: Adhere the three coloured in butterflies, embellish card with sequins, a twine bow and adhere to an A6 side folding card base.
Here are two more background examples using this same technique. I personally love how the lady bug card turned out…
Happy Crafting!
Samantha
