A Way With Words Cardmaking Els van de Burgt Studio Planner Essentials Soft Finish Cardstock

Let Your Dreams Soar Card

January 4, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, I’m thrilled to be sharing with you today my Let your Dreams Soar Card, which is perfect to give to that special someone in your life. To create my card, I’ve used a variety of stamps and dies from Suzanne Cannon! To compliment the products from Suzanne Cannon, I’ve also used dies from Els van de Burgt Studio.

Step One. Die cut the 4″ Stitched Rectangle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Sprinkle Hot Pink, Raspberry and Turquoise Magenta Nuance onto the rectangle. Spritz with water. Dry the paper with a heat tool. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the hexagon stamp from the Pure Spring stamp set and stamp randomly on the rectangle as desired. Reapply ink to the stamp as needed. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Butterfly Flourish, die cut two of the medium butterflies out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the small butterfly from the same die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Four. Die cut the flourish from the Flourished Frame die twice out of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Five. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the Let your dream soar sentiment from the Soar Collection and stamp onto a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Cut the sentiment into two strips. Fussy cut the sentiment out of the two strips. Ink the edges of the sentiments using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. Adhere the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle to the 4″ stitched rectangle.

Step Seven. Adhere the two flourishes to the left side of the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle. Foam square the three butterflies over top of the flourishes.

Step Eight. Adhere the sentiment strips to the bottom right hand side of the 3 1/2″ stitched rectangle.

Step Nine. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/2″ x 8 1/2″, score at 4 1/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Let Your Dream Soar Card.
