Love Card

February 1, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here! With only 13 days until Valentine’s Day, it’s the perfect time to start thinking about creating those special cards for loved ones. So, today, I’m sharing with you my Love Card.

To create my card, I’ve used a variety of dies from Suzanne Cannon! To compliment the products from Suzanne Cannon, I’ve also used dies from Els van de Burgt Studio. Read below as I have a tutorial for you on how to recreate my card.

Step One. Choose three Valentine’s Day themed patterned paper. From the first paper, die cut 4″ Stitched Rectangle. From the second paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle. From the third paper, die cut a 2 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle. Distress the edges of papers. Ink the edges of the papers using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut a 3″ Stitched Rectangle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Distress the edges of the rectangle. Ink the edges of the rectangle using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the Love, Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament, you’ll need the love word. Die cut the word out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Four. From the Flourished Frame Die, die cut the frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Five. Die cut the Flourished Oval Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply Emboss It Ink to the frame and sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the frame. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Six. From the Entwined Hearts die, die cut the set of three heart three times out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Candied Apple Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of four hearts. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Ink over the entire surface of five hearts. Ink the edges of the hearts using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Adhere the Flourished Frame to the 4″ Stitched Rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle to the middle of the 4″ Stitched Rectangle.

Step Eight. Foam square the 3″ Stitched Rectangle to the middle of the 3 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle. Adhere the 2 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle to the middle of the 3″ Stitched Rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the Flourished Frame to the middle of the 2 1/2″ Stitched Rectangle. Adhere the Love sentiment to the middle of the Flourished Frame.

Step Ten. Adhere the hearts around the Flourished Oval Frame and sentiment as desired. Cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 5 1/4″ x 8″, score at 4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thank you for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Love Card.
