Inspire Tag

March 24, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Inspire Tag.

To create my Inspire Tag, I’ve used a variety of the new dies from Charlene and Ilse’s Art Journal Specials Collection as well as a couple of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my tag at home.

Step One. Die cut the large tag from the Planner Essentials 26 – Planner Pocket 3 – Tag & Toppers die out of Kraft Cardstock. Place the S033 stencil on the right hand side of the tag and put Texture Paste Opaque Matte through the stencil with a palette knife. Once the texture paste has dried, distress the edges of the tag. Ink the edges of the tag using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut the 2″ note piece from the Planner Essentials 21 – Note Pieces die out of book page. Distress the edges of the note piece. Ink the edges of the note piece using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. Die cut a 1″ Diagonal Stitched Fishtail out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and out of book page. Tear the top of the white fishtail so that it ends up being 4″ long. Tear the top of the book page fishtail so that it ends up being 3 3/4″ long. Distress the edges of the fishtails. Ink the edges of the fishtails using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. Choose one of the reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Pack Die. Die cut the reinforcement out of black cardstock.

Step Five. Die cut 1760 die out of black cardstock. Cut the die cut piece in half.

Step Six. Die cut 1759 die out of black cardstock. Cut the circles to fit the tag as desired.

Step Seven. Apply Jet Black Archival Ink to the cotton image from the First Sights of Spring Stamp Set and stamp onto a piece of watercolour cardstock. Colour the cotton image in using Dina Wakley Scribble Sticks from Set 1 & 2 and a waterbrush. Once the image has dried, fussy cut it out. Ink the edges of the cotton using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Eight. Use the letters from the Morning Letters Stamp Set and Jet Black Archival Ink to stamp “inspire” on a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Fussy cut the word out. Ink the edges of the word using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Nine. Cut a piece of burlap that measures 2″ x 3 1/4″. Cut a piece of cheesecloth as desired.

Step Ten. Adhere the reinforcement circle to the top of the tag on the circle. Adhere the white fishtail 1/4″ from the right and 1/2″ from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the book page fishtail 1 1/8″ from the left and 3/4″ from the bottom of the tag.

Step Eleven. Adhere the burlap piece 1 1/4″ from the bottom and to the right hand side of the tag. Adhere the mandella half to the 1″ from the top and to the right hand side of the tag.

Step Twelve. Foam square the note piece 1/2″ from the left and 1 1/4″ from the bottom of the tag. Adhere the cheesecloth as desired to the middle right side of the note piece. Adhere the circle piece overtop of the cheesecloth as desired.

Step Thirteen. Use foam squares to adhere the cotton image 5/8″ from the bottom and 3/8″ from the right of the tag. Adhere the inspire word to the bottom right side of the cotton image.

Step Fourteen. Tie a piece of twine through the hole at the top of the tag. Use a paint brush to splatter Tarnished Brass Distress Spray Stain on the tag as desired.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Inspire Tag.
