Planner Essentials

Fun at the Smithsonian

April 6, 2020

Karen here today from Craftily Yours! I made a trip to Washington DC in January, and now that I have some time at home, the positive is that maybe I can catch up on my planner scrapbooking! I recently got my hands on some of the new goodies from the Art Journal line, so I just had to use them on today’s post!

The two pages I made are mirror of each other. Here’s the left side:

Saw so many fun sights. I used the 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock and the Planner Essentials 2 for the page base and first added a bit of background from the Words & Layers Stamp Set with brown ink. On the bottom, I didn’t get a crisp image (because there was something on the other side of the paper, but I think it still looks cool. I added a Bubbles Die cut and tucked it behind a Stitched Circle Die that I left one part open so it would act as a pocket. On the Stitched Circle, I used white ink and the Make Your Mark Template. For fun, I added the word “Happy” to the tab from the Moods Stamp Set and “super cute” that is also part of the Words & Layers set. And of course, I had to had some reinforcements from die cut using the Reinforcement Variety Pack.

These tags were cut using the smaller tag in Planner Essentials 2 with another reinforcement that can be found in the Reinforcement Variety Pack, and I added a bit of journaling to remind me of my favorite exhibits.

I used the same products on the right page but in a bit of a upside-down mirror kind of way. Another element I added was the line of brown dots along the edge of the page. This is just a row of dots made with a Copic marker. The “OMG” is also from the Moods Stamp Set. (Love that set) Here’s a close-up of those dots:

I think that’s all for me today. Thank you for stopping by!

Craftily yours, Karen
