Art Journal Collection Cardmaking

Kinda Silly, Kinda Awesome

May 31, 2020

Karen here today from Craftily Yours! I’m loving playing with the Art Journal line from Ilse and Charlene! It’s so versatile. The line can be used for journaling, scrapbooking and cardmaking too! Today, I created a fun card using the line.

So many pretty elements in this line. For this card, I started by cutting an 8-1/2×11″ piece of 90lb White Soft Finish Cardstock in half lengthwise. I folded one of the halfs in half to make a card base. From the other piece, I cut the card front with the Stitched Rectangle Dies and the sentiment panel from the Stitched Circles dies.

On the card front, I daubered Mowed Lawn Distress Oxide through the Make Your Mark template. Love those hearts. I then colored up another small piece of Soft Finish Cardstock with some Seedless Preserves and Wilted Violet Distress Oxides and cut it with the Mandala Die.

I love the detail in this die. I had put 101mm Double Sided Adhesive on the back first, so it was easy to adhere. So pretty! Next, I adhered and stamped the sentiment from Words & Layers onto the sentiment panel and added a few Metallic Silver Craft Drops.

For the final element of my card, I die cut one of the Budding Florals Dies and smushed it with Versamark ink. I added some Ranger Embossing Pearl-Silver embossing powder and heat set it.

I glued on the Budding Florals with Kids Choice Glue and added the little fabric flower that was in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen
