Home for the Holidays Card

October 3, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my Home for the Holidays Card.

To create my Home for the Holidays Card, I’ve used a variety of dies from Suzanne Cannon and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. Choose two pieces of Christmas patterned paper. From the first patterned paper, die cut a 4″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. From the second patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Black Soot Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. Die cut the Flourished Frame out of White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Three. From the Love, Joy & Peace Christmas Ornament die, die cut the Christmas Ornament out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the ornament. Sprinkle Copper Scroll Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the ornament. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Four. Die cut a 2 1/4″ Stitched Circle out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. From the Let Your Heart Be Light Stamp Set, you’ll need the Home for the Holidays stamp. Apply Emboss It Ink to the stamp and stamp in the middle of the stitched circle. Sprinkle Gothic Black Modern Gilding Powder over the stamped sentiment and tap off the excess powder. Emboss with a heat tool.

Step Five. Die cut all the pieces from the Flourished Holly Die out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the entire surface of the flourished piece. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Fired Brick Distress Ink over the entire surface of the berry piece. Using a blending tool with foam, blend Forest Moss Distress Ink over the entire surface of all of the holly leaves.

Step Six. On a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock, apply Emboss It Ink to it. Sprinkle Forever Platinum Modern Gilding Powder over the entire surface of the cardstock. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool. Die cut the stars from the Peace on Earth die out of the embossed paper. You’ll need only three stars.

Step Seven. Adhere the flourished frame to the 4″ rectangle. Adhere the 3 1/2″ rectangle to the 4″ rectangle.

Step Eight. Adhere the Christmas ornament to the Home for the Holidays stitched circle. Foam square the ornament to the middle of the 3 1/2″ rectangle.

Step Nine. Adhere the Flourished Holly together. Foam square the flourished holly to the top of the Christmas Ornament.

Step Ten. Adhere the stars around the Christmas ornament as desired.

Step Eleven. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 4″ x 10 1/2″, score at 5 1/4″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my Home for the Holidays Card.
