But First Coffee Card

October 11, 2020

Hey Crafters! Katelyn here, sharing with you my But First Coffee Card.

To create my But First Coffee Card, I’ve used a variety of dies from the Planner Essentials Collection, the Sidekick Essentials Collection and Joset Designs. You’ll want to read below as I share with you how to recreate my card at home.

Step One. You’ll need a couple of pieces of coffee themed patterned paper. I’ve used the Echo Park Paper Collection – Coffee. From one of the patterned papers, you’ll need to die cut a 3 3/4″ Fitted Rounded Rectangle. From the other piece of patterned paper, die cut a 3 1/2″ Stitched Rounded Rectangle. Ink the edges of both rectangles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Two. From one of the patterned papers you just die cut the rectangles out of it, die cut the 1 5/8″ Note Piece from the Planner Essentials 21 – Note Pieces die out of it. Ink the edges of the note piece using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Three. From the same patterned paper you just used, die cut the clip from the Planner Essentials – Planner Filmstrip die out of it. Ink the edges of the clip using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Four. From the Planner Essentials – Planner Patterns die, cut the letters from a piece of black cardstock and a piece of kraft cardstock. Apply a coat of Emboss It Ink to the kraft cardstock and sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Five. Choose two more patterned papers from the coffee collection. From the Sidekick Essentials 4 die, you’ll need the 2 1/8″ and 1 3/4″ circles. Die cut the 2 1/8″ circle out of one of the patterned papers. Die cut the 1 3/4″ circle out of the other patterned paper. Ink the edges of both circles using Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Six. From the Sidekick Essentials 4 Die, die cut the 1 3/4″ circle out of black cardstock. Die cut the But First Coffee circle out of a piece of kraft cardstock. Ink the edges of the But First Coffee circle out of Walnut Stain Distress Ink and a blending tool with foam.

Step Seven. Die cut the two coffee cups out of a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock. Die cut the two sized bands once out of kraft cardstock and a second time out of White Soft Finish Cardstock. From the White Soft Finish Cardstock, you’ll only need the top and bottom pieces, not the band. From the kraft cardstock ones, you’ll only need the bands. Apply Emboss It Ink to the kraft cardstock bands and sprinkle Burnt Copper Leaves Embossing Powder over the entire surface. Tap off the excess powder and emboss with a heat tool.

Step Eight. Adhere the 3 1/2″ stitched rounded rectangle to the 3 3/4″ fitted rounded rectangle.

Step Nine. Foam square the note piece 3/8″ from the left and 3/8″ from the bottom of the 3 1/2″ rectangle. Adhere the two letter pieces together, off set, making sure that the embossed letters are on top. Adhere the clip to the top of the letters as desired. Apply adhesive to the left hand side of the letters and adhere 5/8″ from the left and 3/8″ from the bottom of the 3 1/2″ rectangle.

Step Ten. Adhere the 1 3/4″ patterned paper circle to the 2 1/8″ patterned paper circle. Foam square the 2 1/8″ circle to the middle of the letters as desired.

Step Eleven. Adhere the coffee cup pieces to the corresponding cups. Use foam squares and adhesive to adhere the cups to the middle of the 1 3/4″ circle as desired.

Step Twelve. Adhere the But First Coffee circle to the black cardstock circle. Use adhesive and foam squares to adhere the But First Coffee circle to the right of the 2 1/8″ circle as desired.

Step Thirteen. To finish the card, cut a cardbase out of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3 3/4″ x 10″, score at 5″. Adhere the cardfront to the cardbase.

Thanks for joining me today! I hope that I’ve inspired you to create your own version of my But First Coffee Card at home.
