Hey Friends! It’s EK, and today I am playing around with the newly released Holiday Elf- Hers and seeing if I can play with her in ways beyond just the holidays. After all, there are a bunch more elves than just holiday elves. I thought I would play around and see if I could make her into a convincing woodland elf and with the help of the Mushroom House Folding Card I think I was able to come up pretty convincingly with that.

Step One: Die cut all the pieces (minus the elf’s hat) of the Holiday Elf- Hers die set and the stocking cap and trim from the Winter Accessories die set out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Two: Using colored pencils, color the skin and hair of the elf. I used my Polychromos pencils.

Step Three: Color the elf’s clothing and stocking cap (from the Winter Accessories diet set) dark brown with colored pencils.

Step Four: Color the rest of the elf’s clothing a mid toned gray.

Step Five: Using Kids Choice Glue assemble the elf.

Step Six: Die cut the pieces of the Mushroom House Folding Card and some of the accessories out of 90lb Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step Seven: Using Distress Oxides color the mushroom card frame. I used a combination of Pumice Stone, Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap.

Step Eight: Using Distress Oxides color the natural elements. I used Rustic Wilderness for the grass, Wild Honey and Victorian Velvet for the flowers, and a combination of Hickory Smoke, Victorian Velvet and Frayed Burlap.

Step Nine: Using Kids Choice Glue, assemble the card. Using Joyful Wishes stamp set add a sentiment to the card.

How else do you think you could use the Holiday Elves all season long? Let us know in the comments below. Until then, Happy Crafting.
