Hen en Rooster at the Farm

April 29, 2021

Hello everyone! Today is my first blog for the Elizabeth Design team. I hope I can inspire you to make a lot of creations with the beautiful dies that I used.

For this card I used the barn die that I cut out of the beautiful Worn Wood paper. For the wondows, doors and roof I used cardstock. To create the plant in de window I used the hay die also included in the Barn set. I cut the plant (hay) from Whute Soft Finish Cardstock and colored it with Peeled Paint Distress Ink. For the background I used a mask stencil to create the clouds and Tumbled Glass Distress Inks Oxide to color.

I cut and colored two more pieces of hay to add on each side of the barn and added little flowers from the Adventure Edges #1625 set. I colored the flowers with Wilted Violet, Fossilized Amber and Wild Honey Distress Ink. I love using the little flowers, they are so cute!

I made a frame with the Stitched Indented Rectangels #1697. I used the biggest die in the set and one size smaller. Lay them together on the paper and cut theme together. I adhered the frame using foam tape to create more dimension in the card.

After that, I colered the little cute hen and rooster. I also used Distress Inks for this (antique linnen, brushed corduroy, fossilized amber, fired brick, rusty hinge, mermaid lagoon, rustic wilderness). They are so cute in front of the barn. I also used foam tape to adhere them to the card so it looks like they are standign in front of the barn. Above the barn doors I added the sentiment “just chicken in” using black ink. The stamp is from thw “Life is better in the farm” set #CS221.

At last I wanted to decorating the top of the frame. For this I used the Jungle Leaves #1623. On the top of it I used some flowers from Floral 9 #1845. In the middle of the flowers I added the same little flowers from the Adventure Edges set.

At last I glue everything on a fitting card.

So this was my first blog and I hope it inspired you to make your own creation with the lovely farm dies!

Hopefully see you soon!

Lovely greetings Alice
