For a colleague of mine, I made this birth card. With the supercool Farm collection from Joset I made this congratulatory card. I saw the animals and immediately knew oh, I’m going to use them for a birth card because those animals are so cute!! I made them from soft finish cardstock and colored them with brushmarkers from winsor&newton. When the banner was finished there had to be a card around it and as if it had to be so, there was a blister of a sticky tape packaging on my table among all the other “junk” Then all of a sudden the idea was born!
The design paper I used for the flags and background is from Moda scrap “my little boy”, very suitable for a birth card. The paper is cut at 14.5x 14.5 cm and in the middle I have punched out a circle through which exactly the blister packaging can pass. Now I had a room where the pendulum fits.
For the base I used white cardstock, 15×15 cm and from the left side I punched a circle, just not quite so that it becomes a door. I made the closure by punching a die out of the planner essentials 4 twice and glued it together with both the front and the inside just over the edge. The clip has become such a convenient closure. On the right I made the text with the smallest set from the Planner Essentials 23 – Retro Alphabet Trio Set. On top of that, the sheep came out of the Farm collection. On the envelope I added “welcome little one” from the Life is better on the Farm stamp set.
In this photo you can see a little better how the closure is and how the banner is in it.
Isn’t it it cute???
Anyone who knows me a little, knows that I love banners in cards. It always makes it a little more cheerful. This time I’ve made a banner with the flags from the Planner Essentials 27 – Retro Number Trio Set and the farm animals of Joset between the words. It made me happy to make this card and hopefully I have brought you even more ideas on how to combine the different Elizabeth Craft Designs collections.
